I need some minecraft advice. I've been playing with LKC and we've got to the stage where we've got a mine down near the bottom of the world, have some gold, a few diamonds, etc, what should our goals be now?

Build a nether portal? Kill endermen for ender pearls, etc.?

Or just build stuff.....

Try to find the End

kokiri is playing MC Pocket Edition. There is no "End" area yet.

I assume you built a house containing a bed, large chests and explored and lit some large caves.

Things I would start next (in some order...)

1. Start a farm to grow wheat, carrots
2. Build a pen for cows use them for meat and leather
3. Build an enchantment table surrounded by 30 bookcases
4. Build a brewing stand
5. Build a nether portal out of Obsidian
- Explore the nether and learn a survival strategy
- Find a Nether Fortress and begin mining blaze rods from blazes
6. Find an underground Stronghold
7. Find and loot a Desert Temple without triggering traps
8. Build a train system to travel to distance areas
9. Find and tame both Ocelots and Wolves (Use fish and bones...)
10. Learn how to use redstone. Build circuits, logic, light switches and controls

We're currently exploring our first cave, and have plans to build a massive pad. I'm currently building a powered cart system to get up/down the mine shaft.

How do toy get cows in a pen?

Hold wheat in your hand. They'll follow you.

You breed cows by pressing and holding the wheat on two cows next to each other. Don't click or tap the cows with the wheat. That just attacks them. Press and hold it on them to feed them.

You get wheat seeds from harvesting grass with a hoe. Plant the wheat seeds in dirt with a near by water block. Use bonemeal to speed up the plant growth if you don't want to wait.

A not too bad wiki site specific to MCPE:

What are the most important uses for the critical minerals - gold diamond lapis lazuli? I've got some of each. And don't want to waste them (may already have done on powered track).

Also, can you melt down gold armour? I've got a bunch I have no use for from zombies.

save all leather for books for bookcases

save diamonds for the diamond pickaxe, enchantment table and other one time made items. Don't waste them on swords and armor.

Even iron is a precious commodity. It's easy to find but non-renewable. After a few wipes while wearing full iron armor can put a hit on the supplies.

Save all lapis lazuli for enchanting.
Don't use gold to make armor/weapons. It's rare and wears fast. You'll find many monsters that wear/drop gold armor pieces.

You can't melt/reuse armor. You can repair things with an anvil but that uses a TON of iron.

BTW, FYI - Minecraft for Windows 10, Android and iOS can all play together...

The original java based minecraft doesn't not work with the above.

Oh, making a fishing rod and learning to fish is also probably a good idea. Save all pufferfish and clownfish. Those are rare with other uses.

If you liked lego's/train sets etc as a kid, you'll love minecraft.

It's cheap. $7 for your tablet/$10 for a windows 10 PC.

It's a game for any age from a 3 year old to an adult!

For any fans of puzzle games should take a look at Lara Croft Go in the Google play store.

It's currently on sale! I'm a little over 1/2 through it and I'm enjoying the clever mechanics.

Somebody start a pub already. Like Donk had a fine title this month, try to make your title clever and not stupid or lame.
