Some of the Dune sequels are better than others. The second one, Dune Messiah, is kind of boring so a lot of people just stop there. The fourth one, God Emperor of Dune, is quite interesting if a bit talky. You explicitly get a lot of Herbert's theories on Society and Philosophy in that one.

I actually found the prequels to be entertaining

i can and i'm not.

i love that the natural reaction to an altercation these days is to whip out a camera and film it.

+1. However, any fan of the original should watch for the National Lampoon spoof, Doon, which is quite funny. (It details the protagonist's quest to become the Kumquat Haagendazs, the leader of the freedmenmen, on a desert plan rife with giant pretzels but valuable for its supply of the universe's most precious substance, beer. [I may have some of that a bit wrong, but it doesn't matter.])

My gimmicks need more posts. The "newbie" label is disconcerting.

gimmicks are dire. In all cases bar witty-joke-gimmicks. And there aren't many of them.
06-27-2010 , 11:14 PM
They have their purposes imo, but the only two I use were each created for anonymous games. The other dozen or so don't have much excuse for existing.

I like this one for the avatar — my first (and only) Photoshop(ish) effort ever.
