Welcome again, POGgers and visitors, to the POG Pub. This is a continuation, of sorts, of the first Pub, here.
In this thread you'll find games, but not the usual POG type of big, semi-serious games. Games played in the Pub are different — usually short, often silly... the sort of thing that's fun but doesn't really deserve its own thread. If you have an idea for such a game, speak up — maybe you'll get shouted down, but more likely someone will want to play with you. You might even get an evening designated for you, although for the most part the games are pickup-style, not scheduled, so just go ahead and speak up if there's something you want to play.
You'll also find lighthearted, sometimes alcohol-catalyzed banter, and on good days someone — maybe you? — will film a toast for the rest of the patrons. Here are some of the toasts that were posted in the last edition of the pub:
Pub is part of 2p2, so there are certain things you definitely can't post; you should know what those are by now.
Pub is part of POG, so we ask that if it belongs elsewhere on POG, it doesn't go here. That means:
If it's a substantial game that really deserves its own thread, give it its own thread (though it's acceptable to mention it here).
If it's the sort of chat that you want everyone in POG to see, or have a chance at seeing, put it in the Community thread. Drunken silliness goes here, mostly; most discussions should go there.
If it's something that, while technically not against the rules, just isn't done in POG, don't do it here.
Don't spam: don't post simply for the sake of posting. You should have something (even if not a heck of a lot) to say.
Try not to be completely offensive. Genuine meanness isn't acceptable — your intoxication isn't an excuse, and you'll be asked to cut it out or to leave. And you can be a little bit crude, but try to confine it to things that wouldn't get you thrown out of a brick and mortar bar.
On the other hand, this thread is not safe for work, so don't be surprised or offended when someone says or does something that would get you thrown our of your office, or of church.
Above all: Have fun — and don't do anything that will make it hard for everyone else to do the same.
The Pub (late winter 2010 version — at least on northern hemisphere calendars) is open.
