The disinformation trolls (VMF, Luckbox and sometimes mets) have had their **** refuted numerous times by various ppl. They sometimes try to argue, their arguments are defeated and then they pretend it didn’t happen and post a new batch of disinfo.

Also, most people have better things to do than spend time debunking trolls. When someone does that, awesome. More power to them. But we can’t (and shouldn’t) expect them to do it at all times.

This, btw, is a good example of VMF’s intellectual dishonesty. Birdman’s name is no longer in contention for the position of disinfo censor. My name, thankfully, was never in contention in the first place. This was always going to be eyebooger’s job, bc he’s the one modding this thread. Yet VMF decided to bring two other names up, clearly as a scare tactic.

It is odd we're back to the most normalcy when things are worse than ever. I assume lots of people are just over it (like I kind of am).

Plus lots of people don't really care about getting sick or dying (abstractly speaking)

With regard to coronavirus, things that are backed by science.

VMF especially has shown that he has no idea how scientific research works. Or he's doing performance art of a dumb Trumpist (a theory that I like more the more I think about it).

Meh, you literally admitted to posting things without reading them, and the conclusions you took were demonstrably false. Maybe I don’t understand what disinformation means, though.

That being said, I do agree it’s too wide of a brush to lump you in with them.

Luckbox is orders of magnitude more likely to be engaging in performance art then VMF, although both of them fall squarely in the Dunning Kruger "actually I'm a genius contrarian, I'll tell you all about it after I eat these THC brownies" category of poster that aren't really worth genuinely engaging with. Whether they're worth having on the forum and if there are Streisand Effect related ripples to doing something about it is a problem I'm pretty glad it's not my responsibility to solve, and I'm generally pretty laissez-faire about live and let live as long as I can reasonably intuit good faith from the other party (as is the case, you note, with mets).

How much do you think the masses are actually correct on big picture takes and is it your view that all/most contrarians are Dunning-Kruger examples?
Do the actual certified reality experts have it all mostly right?
