Zeus and Zurvan have already picked a Roger Corman movie so I'm just going to pick now. To help get this moving.

The only movies by him that I've seen have been picked, so I'm taking The Trip

Peter Fonda stars in a role involving him dropping Acid. Jack Nicholson is the screenwriter, so this has to be great.

I've never seen a Roger Corman film but I feel strongly that The Haunted Palace stands out as the very best of any film he ever directed.

For a Film with an IMDB rating of 6.5 or lower I'll take one of my all-time favorites. And you can watch the whole movie on YouTube! I'm taking Three Amigos!

Here's one of my favorite clips.

Just an all-time classic, with Martin, Short, and Chase all at their absolute peak. This movie hits it out of the park.

Well if everyone has decided to just go...

Bug for movie 6.5 or less. I'm honestly not sure why this movie is rated so low. I guess a lot of people just went into it with different expectations? Anyway, it's pretty damn good imo.

Tron for movie that doesn't hold up. This was pretty groundbreaking when it came out, but the effects are so dated now, and the movie is just really dumb.

The problem with picking like this is that it stops people picking this movie for other categories

For best movie under 6.5 on IMDB, I'm going with Birds of Prey, aka Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn

Margot Robbie is really good as Harley Quinn, and the story is fun as hell. It's criminally underrated.

Everyone has picked a movie year except Ferencl, so I can start my rankings once he picks his year. Also, eyebooger may or may not want to add a write-up for that category.

I messed up on best movie year because I thought Eraserhead was 1976 but it was really 1977.
So, 1976 had two great Brian De Palmas ("Obsesssion" and "Carrie") plus new kid John Carpenter's "Assault on Precinct 13".
Three great movies should be enough. Any others? Let's see...............TAXI DRIVER was 1976 too. We have a winner!

My final pick in the Movie That Doesn't Hold-Up category:

Porky's

Misogynist, anti-semitic, racist, and regardless of all that, not all that funny.

This was the #5 highest grossing movie when it was released. Now, it couldn't get a theatrical release and would bomb in streaming.

For my last pick, I'm also on "Movie that doesn't hold up"

I'm going with a movie that got a lot of attention when it came out, but in retrospect is pretentious, kind of boring, and creepy as hell. Known sex pest Kevin Spacey almost but not sleeping with a high school girl isn't exactly a great plot for a movie.

Here's three minutes of a teenager voicing over film of a ****ing plastic bag:

American Beauty

ok think this is my last one.... best movie below 6.5 rating I'll go for Night At The Museum with the following credentials:
- An incredible performance from Robin Williams as Teddy Roosevelt as a shining light amidst a brilliant cast pulling off great performances
- Kicking off a fun romp of a franchise
- Being a perfect easy holiday watching with the kids
- This amazing line from an aged Mickey Rooney:
"Are You Crackin' Wise? I Oughta Punch You In The Nose, Hopscotch"
- Some exceptionally silly jokes e.g.

2015

Spotlight won Best Picture, a deserving winner in a field of great movies.

The other nominees were:
The Big Short - a dramatic but hilarious re-telling of the financial crisis with a dynamite cast

Bridge of Spies - a fun prisoner exchange film where Mark Rylance shines

Brooklyn - a lovely romance about life in two countries

Mad Max: Fury Road - an action movie that doesn't insult your intelligence and is fun as **** the entire way

The Martian - a rare case where the film is much better than the book

The Revenant - I wish they didn't change the source material so much that the title makes no goddamn sense, but at least Leo got his Oscar

Room - a terrifying but engrossing saga of escape from captivity

But that certainly isn't all.

There was a great Pixar movie (Inside Out), a decent enough Bond movie (Spectre), an incredible AI film (Ex Machina), and some scattered great performances in movies like Straight Outta Compton, Creed, The Danish Girl, Sicario, Joy, Carol, Trumbo).

But even a lot of the big budget prequel/sequel stuff was widely praised:
Star Wars Episode 7, Jurassic World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and even Furious 7 have Rotten Tomatoes scores north of 70%

So, while it doesn't have the fame of 1994 or 1999, I'd certainly put up 2015 as a truly top-tier year for films.

I guess it's free for all then?

I'll pick my final one (movie that doesn't hold up) today then

gonna take me a bit to judge my category as I'm watching the ones that I haven't seen in the past year so that I can judge properly

so far I've rewatched Heat and I have seen Bottle Rocket and Inception in the past year; Now You See Me and Die Hard prolly in the last 2 years so may not rewatch, but prolly; Reservoir Dogs I've seen many times but not in many years, so will def rewatch

have never seen Butch Cassidy or Kelly's Heroes so def have to watch those

I'm finished because a previous comment said all the years were in except mine.
I went ahead and picked since I could not take a year away from anyone else.
