You were good. Mashes are like poker tournaments, there's a lot of variance you can't control.

Your spew did do monstr a lot of good, yeah, and was what led to me blocking batm. and your posting was villagery iirc.

and a few of the people I thought were villagers based on reading you for spew still ended up shot in ITAs. I even turned around on one and tried to shoot him myself eventually.

not much you can do about being modpeeked wolf.

Thanks. Although fairly accurately representing a village game that makes everyone who has not played with me a lot think I am a wolf D1 in a game where 3/4 of the players have not played with me is probably not optimal, especially considering I was such a strong role.

To optimally help my team I probably should have just done nothing but vote for and shoot at BATM all game and coast along in the sea of non active players.

Seemed like all granted wishes were mod peeks..

Whoever had the stone, were they able to pick the wishes or did they have to be a mod peek?

Ya you and I did really well distancing from each other and I'd like to think that sans mod peek I'd have spewed you instead which is what I was going for but

C'est la vie

The only thing more different than solving the game d1 is finding batmans peeks

Wish mechanics are really rough sometimes too but it's also a fun one. I think it might be better if they're more subtle wishes rather than potential game breakers. Those kind of prizes should be left for events and such imo

More event deaths rather than dayvigs being active d1
Meh.

Counterpoints:
  1. A peeked wolf d1, while bad, means that the village should get little information out of d1, which ends up being bad for the village.
  2. Don't want to get peeked wolf on d1? Don't be a wolfy mofo.

I do note that pure wish granting could be too powerful in some cases, but I don't think it was a huge gamebreaking problem this game.

How did you guys even know you could wish and potentially get it granted?

Considering how we could potentially manipulate wagons, having outed wolves/neutrals and no real wagons every day except D3 was pro village I think, although it was definitely anti-fun/excitement.

The EOD2 in my last game (hydra) was one of the most exciting times I have had playing WW, even though we lost a flip and it ultimately cost us the game.

Ben,

Wish granters have become, if not standard, at least a relatively common occurrence in larger mashes.

(They're not without risk; in the game I modded at the start of the year, the wish granter was a wolf who did... bad things... to people he granted wishes to. Muahaha.)

I think it started to become a thing this year...I think wishes are fun and definitely fit some themes better than others (Disney, Baldur's Gate) but yeah, as I've said, I think they should be limited.

So D1 people were just guessing there might be a wishing dynamic and throwing it out there? Which means the wolves could have done it too since the gem bearer obviuosly doesn't know who is villa or wolf?

-When I first saw it during play D1 I thought it was nothing, but then when I learned how I was outed and killed, I figured it was some sort of role PM thing a few villas had.

People typically make wish posts in all mashes regardless of whether or not they know a wish granter is in the game.

yeah there was definitely a wish granter in Baldur's Gate and I think in Futurama or Fincher, can't remember (I get those two games mixed up in my mind).

IhcJay was the wish granter in one of those and got character vigged for claiming he was Christina Aguilera (lol)

I remember Jay saying that he wasn't granting anyone vig shots if they asked for them on D1 cuz he didn't know who was a wolf or not.

WG obviously I think you were foolish to start making claims out of the gate.

But these people complaining about your decision to announce that you would villa-aligned are being results oriented. It's as good a method as any to attempt to extend your lifespan while you stone-hunt.

Thanos' weakness is also a subconscious desire to lose, so maybe that was coming in to play lol.

LOL. WG knew where at least 3 stones were at that point. And he can only collect 1 stone a day. Do you think he should have waited to find the other 2-3 stones and then hoped the game went 6 more days after that without him getting heat when there were only 4-5 wolves left in the game?

And you died pretty late Grant2, but DVC has been bitching about how sub optimal his play was since D2, because we all knew the game would end exactly the way it did as soon as he started revealing himself on D2 and siding villa.

I should add the caveat we knew how weak the wolf pack was, and how clearly WG was a bigger threat than them by day 3, which obviously WG underestimated.

I only did it because I saw others. I wonder who the first one to wish was though. (Not going to look from phone lol)
