This is so hopelessly stupid but I have been committed to making an effort to maintain my composure lately in my communications.


The warning was a seeming attempt to lower the vitriol and nastiness in politics forum. To my knowledge all but maybe one or two outliers agreed we could do better. Jman made a moderation thread and issued bans. Posts were to be flagged and removed and bans issued if they went over the line. To my knowledge, there was no communication from management to the mods or users that this system was still failing.


Then to shut it down, with no banner, announcement, post, or whatever - is shockingly bad. I only see this post:

Which is buried a few pages back and I didn't even see it. If this is the attitude about their site, fine. Are you guys willing to sell it?

It should be enough and would be if America had any honor left but we have very little of that or dignity. So yes he will be the nominee and have a good chance of winning. At least you can take your joy from others pain though. So you got that going for you.

Yea, coming from my professional background I guess it was kind of silly to me to expect the owners of a website to be in agreement or on even remotely the same page about something, especially when you share the same last name.

Wasn't around, do I have the timeline correct?

- Vaya makes a post with some unflattering comments about Sarah Huckabee Sanders in the Mueller thread.
- Mat comes in and demands that Vaya be perma-banned (could he not have done that himself?) or the politics forum will be shut down.
- A few people mildly troll and/or push back on this threat.
- Before waiting for the politics mods to take any action on any of the posts, Mat shuts down the politics forum.
- This whole sequence took less than 45 minutes.

In addition to being a garden variety deplorable, Mat just isn’t very bright.

So wait on a holiday weekend he gave volunteer moderators 30 minutes or so to respond to an ultimatum and when they didn't get there in time he just nuked the forum?

That's even worse.
