Grunching with thoughts on the USA/ Costa Rica game

Spoiler:
Lolololol ship it.

In reasonably good shape now. Way too injured to expect or hope for a point at Azteca, but we don't really need one. Job done for this weekend, let's give it a shot in Azteca and then hopefully get healthy for the big stretch at the end of May/beginning of June.

If we can get all the way healthy, we have a couple of good friendlies set up and the schedule breaks favorably, so maybe we can take 7-9 points from those 3 games and stop having to sweat so damn hard.

After a series of unfavorable results, ussf hits the panic button in a last ditch effort to qualify and installs Marcelo Bielsa as the new head coach.

You heard it here first.

Guys so how good did Freddy Adu turn out to be? I know he was supposed to be the next big thing and failed miserably.

He's gonna play for my team in Brazil. I expect him to be able to hold a starting spot at least(it's a relegation fighting team).

lol Adu. I read an article about this on ESPN today where they said he and the Union agreed to terminate "the star's" contract by mutual consent. Because most stars have contracts terminated due to mutual consent...

mw, have you ever seen him play in the MLS, or are you just trashing him bc you think it's funny to do so?

I'm going to guess it's the latter, since that's your style.

I've seen 2 full Edu games and I thought he was fine. Nothing special but he's also not lol bad or anything like that. I have no idea how strong the Brazilian league he's joining, but if it's inferior competition to MLS, Edu will tear it up. If it's on par, expect a mediocre player who has a bit of upside. He wont be an embarrassment.

Edu?

Last couple times I saw him he wasn't too bad compared to the competition, but he is very very far from being a star. I just think it's comical how ESPN will continue to label him as such like 5 yrs after everyone has already given up on him being a star footballer.

Adu*

Yeah, I agree with you, he's clearly not a star. But he's solid enough

edit: I think ESPN pushing him a star is more from ignorance than anything. They just have no idea what they're talking about

Adu was by far our best player in the Gold Cup final we lost to Mexico. That doesn't mean much, of course.

Agreed. My post should have read "lol ESPN" instead of Adu.

As one of the most respected minds/posters itt, The fact that you do not know the vast disparity in quality between the Brazilian league and MLS is mind blowing. I mean, really?

Wait, I'm supposed to be a global expert on footballing leagues? I barely know all the members of the USMNT. In fact, I don't know all the ppl on our team.

I have no idea about the Brazilian league. I know it's not a top top league, after that, nc.

Not to mention the fact that he thinks you are talking about Maurice EDU and not Freddy ADU.
