It seems a shame to have a player as effective as he is and have him be rendered bad in a system. Maybe someone should look into why that seems to be the case...

hoping the next manager let's the players play what fits them best

they're not changing out of a 4-3-3 at this point

I mean 4-3-3 is probably the correct system but like play pulisic - weah - Aaronson in front of Reyna - Adams - McKennie with Adams as a deep 6 and Reyna and McKennie as free 8s.

we won't play weah as a striker because he's our best crosser which is actually all of our offense

of course this just goes back to the manager

Weah is not even a good crosser. I watch Lille quite a bit and his crosses are rarely on target.

I don't think you lose much by just moving him to striker and getting your best guys on the pitch. Duck's lineup would be perfect for Iran. That midfield would struggle too much vs. England though.

Incidentally, Greggg used the optimal England lineup for Wales, but should have used Duck's lineup vs. Wales or at least added one of Reyna/Aaronson for a bit of additional quality. Sarge, I would basically only use him when we're gonna see little of the ball, like vs. England, or late in matches when we're ahead and trying to kill a lead. Like vs. Wales, you could have sacrificed 2 attackers (Weah seemed like he was never going more than 60-70 anyway) and gone to a 5-man backline with Sarge up top holding up play and trying to create counters.

Instead, Greggg just let the game open way up in the 2nd half and Wales had tons of chances. So much talk of teams just wanting to sit on a 1-0 lead in this World Cup and then in a spot where it actually does make a ton of sense, our fearless leader doesn't do it. A decent manager might have gotten 2 goals in the 1st half when the USA was dominating and done a much better job of protecting the lead in the 2nd.

Yanklandians might like this article written by Eric Wynalda.

Then we collapsed in the second half and ended with a 1–1 draw. Everything people were worried about coming into this World Cup manifested in that second-half: I find it really hard to believe that Wales could make one change, bringing on Kieffer Moore, and completely derail us. We didn’t have an answer to it.

Costa Rica is the worst team in this by a mile. I wish they would've just lost in the playoff to New Zealand.

CONCACAF was so bad though. Panama was way worse than normal, Mex/USA not great, and the bottom teams were lol. Luckily Canada arrived on the scene in a big way.

USA had half a roster for almost every game due to injuries

I blame the scheduling across the world

also would take CRC over Qatar

Concacaf just sucks. None of those **** teams belong over Italy or Chile, ever, under any circumstances.

what a beatdown, jesus.

CRC was the hottest concacaf team at the end of the qualifying and we looked kinda helpless parking the bus against them in our last match. welp.

1. we didnt care about that game, we were never going to lose 6-0. that was quite clear. also lolsteffen.
2. CRC outside of their stadium and middle school field and no trash refs is not the same
