Looks like I'm a little behind but a dry wedding would be awful. I don't even care what you're serving, hell I might drink malt liquor at a wedding. Plus you would miss out on people who drink like twice a year assing out.

I called the holiday a monumental net-negative and some other guy questioned me. I also said there are plenty of net-negative things I enjoy

I went to a NYE wedding in Seattle, it was awesome. They renting like this big boathouse on Lake Union, tons of booze, even fireworks. It might have even been more beautiful than the plastic bag blowing around in the wind like trash does in American Beauty.

Surprisingly un-hipster, maybe like 4/10 on a hipster level mostly because of the location. It was just a very good time. There were even drunken midnight swims in Lake Union, which isn't exactly the most swim friendly body of water.

SirOsis is DABES dunno why Omar takin shots at him like that.

Went to a dry wedding due to Bride's parents who were paying for the wedding. I was friends with groom. Bride is really cool too, but her parents were squares. Was held in this reception hall attached to a restaurant. Restaurant had an bar. Guess where the wedding reception really took place.

NYE parties mostly depend on who you're with rather than where you are or what you're doing. This past NYE was my first one with our baby. We spent it with family because we really wanted to spend a nice peaceful NYE with my son.

3 consecutive years prior to that it was at a friends bar. We closed it early and threw a private party there. It was awesome. Live DJ, tables always filled with good bar food and of course the drinks were plentiful.

Younger days it was more about hitting up a club/bar/NYE party. Less personal but filled with a lot of fun and stupid/great memories.

NYE is not anymore of a net negative than most holidays ime.

And yea, that bear is boss. I would call him Boss if I ever met him, and not in a condescending way either.

Look I used to love NYE when I was younger. I have no problem saying I'm old and just don't care for it anymore.

But anyone who seriously disputes my "net negative" comment should really try to prove that it's a net-positive event for humankind. Or neutral. I honestly don't see how that's possible.

This isn't to say I don't enjoy things that are net-negative. Just not NYE.
meh. I'm older than you (iirc) and I think you're stretching a bit. I mean, by that definition, going to a live sporting event is a net negative. You feel the same way about St. Patrick's Day?
