Seriously. My girlfriend and I have talked about it and I said I don't care when it is as long as it doesn't interfere with things people would rather do. No NFL Sunday, some off weekend in summer is best. That's all that matters to me on that decision.

Weddings are one of those things that I whine about having to go to but will have fun 95% of the time.

If someone complains about having to go to their friends wedding instead of watching a football game they're pretty horrible people.

The point is that it's very easy to schedule around major events like that, and that people will obviously pick the wedding. If you want people checking their phones while you say your vows, then by all means.

Whole fall is off limits IMO since I wouldn't want my anniversary to interfere with a must see game down the road. Gotta make sure you schedule around possible future us and british open dates also. I'm thinking the first weekend of August is probably the ideal time for a wedding.

Obv people here wouldn't skip a friends wedding to watch one football game, were just saying its bad scheduling

I disagree. I don't drink but my best friend is an alcoholic. Its cool. He drinks and I drive. I'm not the "guys we prob shouldn't do this" guy.

Just don't ask me to sit through your boring ass wedding when we could be having fun.

Just bring some crayons with you and ask if it's okay if you draw on the table cloth.

I enjoy weddings. It's always great seeing old friends and celebrating with the newlyweds.

Otoh I've never been to a wedding where I'm thinking "there's no way these people should he getting married." unfortunately I see a couple of them coming in the future.

My extended family is mostly very religious/conservative so I've been to my fair share of dry weddings (and Thanksgivings and Christmases etc.). They are confirmed WOAT.

My brother is getting married in a couple of weeks and I plan to gleefully get hammered under all of their disapproving glares.

Wedding I'm going to in a few weeks has that. Rooftop in downtown Detroit, as romantic as that sounds. Then hotel room a few blocks away in a casino so inevitably some drunken craps/baccarat.

If you want the best possible weather in the northeast, early fall is the best time to get married. I'd rather deal with my friends having to miss LSU vs McNeese State than having everyone running around in suits on a 95 degree day in July.

Also NCAAF isn't that big here generally, when we were planning our wedding I was much, much more worried about it landing on a crucial YANKEES playoff game. Went to a wedding in 2009 that was the night of like game 5 of the World Series or something. Basically the entire place spent the whole night checking their phones or standing at the actual bar in the hotel, which wasn't close to the reception.
