Or when you look at the fee Ferguson paid for Smalling when at the time he'd played more games for Maidstone United than he had for Fulham.

Kos was 8-10mil IIRC plus Coquelin was thrown in on loan. Based on how he did last year I don't think it was bad business at all.

What is x? Like £20m?
In this market I value Thiago at around £30m, so I would need another £25-30m in cash as well to swap him for Cesc.

If x is £20m, then that's £20mm! I know prices are high, but...

I would be furious if we replaced Cesc with another Barca academy player that would most likely want to leave in 3 years to go back to Barca.

Hmm I was putting Thiago at around £20m-£25m and then about the same in cash bringing the total to £40m-£50m

Fantastic thing about finally getting Jones... He and Smalling will be playing together for Club and Country for years to come. The understanding between the two will be immense.

Anyone put in a solid offer yet for Alexis Sanchez yet ? Surely this has to spell the end for Evans/Brown at United with the Jones signing. LOL City Interested in Ronaldo? Pure speculation but apparently he demanded 400,000 - Captaincy - Number 7 shirt and always to be the highest paid player lolol

I'm pretty sure City would snap accept those demands...

They'd probably offer him more if given the chance.

What left winger could turn down the opportunity to play with Roberto Carlos as his left back?

Suarez loves the boom bust, I guess getting just under 2 points per game wins you the league tho? DERP

His quote:

"We've been playing well and I think we've been getting into the type of form that we know we'll have to keep up for a whole season if we want to be title contenders.

"This is something we're optimistic about for next season and if we can hit the ground running and maintain the good form, then I think we've got a good chance of doing well."

Yep clearly claims the title is ours. Imagine a player being optimistic about a new season.

we should start a poll on how how far into the new season Liverpool will get before the bust cycle begins.

Steve Kean makes me laugh everytime I hear him talk.

He just said that Phil Jones wanted CL football right now and that Blackburn were not at that level just yet but will be in a few years.

He says it with such a straight face which is the best part.

Liverpool going to have talks with Blackpool this week regarding Charlie Adam and there is now talk that Raul Merieles may be on his way out which seems a bit strange.

Quote:
Sky Sports News sources understand Liverpool will hold talks with Blackpool's Charlie Adam later this week.

The Scotland international has long been a target of the Anfield club and they failed in an attempt to agree a deal in the January transfer window.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish's interest in his compatriot is not thought to have ended and he is again attempting to secure the playmaker, with Sky Bet suspending their market earlier on Monday.

Sky sources understand discussions will consequently take place with relegated Blackpool and Adam later this week.

The Reds have already signed Jordan Henderson from Sunderland and are expected to continue to remodel their squad this summer.

Ongoing interested in Adam, who suits Fenway Sports Group's policy for young, British players, adds to the uncertainty surrounding Raul Meireles.

Despite a promising debut season in the Premier League, it has been speculated that the 28-year-old could be sold due to his age and doubts about his fitness.

Id be sorry to see him go as hes a good player but if hes not a part of the plans for whatever reason it makes sense to sell him now.

He had a very good season so we would probably get our money back if not small profit.

Worries about his age at 28 when he is coming into his prime? I call BS.
