Where's your beef? Mad Men is an incredibly rich show with **** tons of subtext and elite characters. The Office was revolutionary in that it set the bar for the mockumentary genre, executing it impeccably and managing to mix humour with feels. Da Ali G Show is satire not only at its best but at its funniest - especially Season 2 when he started to flesh out Bruno a little more alongside Ali G and Borat.

since this is SETV, the CBB TV show has gotten pretty good this year. First season's rougher (and is on Netflix Instant), but they've really figured out what they want to do in Season 2.

I haven't seen Chappelle's Show in its entirety - seen a fair few episodes. Whilst it does have some hilarious segments, I don't think it carries the same overall sharp wit that Da Ali G Show and SBC bring. Chappelle's stand up work is superior though. Killin' Them Softly is a goddamn riot.

Gervace is at the same time the worst and stupidest player on Survivor. Slow your team down nearly costing a challenge and then talk **** which causes your own niece to be voted to RI. Moran.

Pre-existing relationships (family and premade alliances) destroy that.

Then the show brings back redemption island, which is baffling because challenges with nothing at stake were already padding the show. The outcome of redemption island is so inconsequential, it detracts 1/5 of each show just to bring back a couple people who are going to be so far on the outs so as to be drawing completely dead. Speaking of challenges with nothing at stake... individual immunity. For all the twists they try to force into the show, why have they yet to change the formula for the most irrelevant part of every single show post-merge? An individual is powerless in this game so how does individual immunity shape the outcome of the game in any meaningful way? The range of skills needed to beat the entire field and go an immunity run is so improbable that I would argue that even most "challenge monsters" like Ozzy were probably successful largely thanks to random chance and even that wasn't enough to prevent his demise. Why not just give a must-use immunity idol to the winner? There's something seriously backwards with the Survivor formula when reward challenges are more compelling than immunity.

I don't think Survivor should go down the Big Brother path (where challenges are enormously influential to the outcome of the game), but it's reached the point where I'm just fast forwarding and alt tabbing almost half the show.
This guy gets it.

we did live Skype chat discussions during previous seasons with some of the SE regs and I'm wondering if anyone's going to be watching again this year

90 minute premiere should be a good appetizer for THE CHALLENGE finale at 10pm ET
uggh told myself i wasn't gonna take on any new shows and was gonna sit this season of survivor out but skype chat sounds very tempting. was the premier good?

I watched one episode last season (the premier, I think, with Amy Poehler) and one this season (Anna Kendrick). Didn't really care for either of them. Give me a good episode from this season to watch and I'll give it another try.

I thought the premiere was decent entertainment wise, but I'm just not a huge fan of all the gimmicks this season and found myself disengaged for several parts of the premiere. This season does have some great potential though, so I'll be tuning in

Brad Culpepper killed it in the premiere

he had a bumbling 30 second confessional trying to do math while figuring out how many votes he needed to get a majority in a group of 9

lots of NFL concussion related jokes ensued

The Gillian Jacobs episode was very good.

The doctor with the confessional about Brad was hilarious.

"Within five minutes Brad wants to form an all guys alliance. What a surprise, the former NFL Quarterback wants to keep his locker room together."

It's pretty boring (slow paced might be a better term) imo. I've watched the first 4 seasons I think but can't imagine ever going back through them. Can't think of a single elite character either.

Always Sunny #3 = very strong. Solid start to the season. League #3 was the typical meh, same old. Only good thing was the single=Redzone comparison.
