That's definitely the most ****ed up pronunciation of gleaming I've ever heard, sounds a hell of a lot more like gleaving.

America's Douchiest Colleges. I love the irony that GQ did the rankings.

Shocked that SC was only 16, thought for sure we'd be top 5. Maybe it's gotten less douchey (hey wait a sec...) All I know is that there's nothing wrong with giant sunglasses.

fml, just bubbled the 109 turbo for 2x average stack:

Poker Stars $100+$9 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t1000/t2000 Blinds + t250 - 8 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

MP2: t29221 M = 5.84
CO: t1956 M = 0.39
BTN: t19415 M = 3.88
Hero (SB): t21220 M = 4.24
BB: t22466 M = 4.49
UTG: t42995 M = 8.60
UTG+1: t51647 M = 10.33
MP1: t7097 M = 1.42

Pre Flop: (t5000) Hero is SB with Q Q
3 folds, MP2 calls t2000, 2 folds, Hero raises to t20970 all in, 1 fold, MP2 calls t18970

Flop: (t45940) 3 9 8 (2 players - 1 is all in)

Turn: (t45940) J (2 players - 1 is all in)

River: (t45940) 6 (2 players - 1 is all in)

Final Pot: t45940
MP2 shows J 9 (two pair, Jacks and Nines)
Hero shows Q Q (a pair of Queens)
MP2 wins t45940

But discovered that it is probably the worst 100+ buy in mtt I've ever played in.

That is all.
09-10-2009 , 03:17 AM
Man, that's a 2004-esque limp call.

In listening to all the slobknobbing of Jeter this morning on SC/Mike&Mike/etc I had the unfortunate luck of hearing that he is dating my future wife, Minka Kelly.

Some quick googling makes this appear like it has ben going on for awhile, but I didn't know and it makes me sad.

Do any of you play bar poker? Not NTN (computer) trivia, but with the sheets and pencils? My old man is staying with me and he's a total trivia junkie so I have to drag ass around town 2-3 evenings/week so he can get his fix.

Basically the biggest rule is no cell phone usage, at all. Now, we're not playing for Cadillacs and it's pretty lame to turn a trivia contest into "check my cell phone google skills", but some people can't help themselves. Last night there were a couple of fat college chicks (or around that age, but this bar is right next to ASU) who were very blatantly cheating. They were seated at a booth and they were putting the phone on the seat, kinda out of everyone's sight, and obviously looking **** up between the two of them. They obviously had a successful googling experience on one question because one started to act all excited and wrote something down.

So I ratted them out of course. Somewhere during the next round - when the one whale continues to cheat - a person running the thing came over and said hey just a reminder, no cell phone usage. She was like what, I was just checking e-mail? O RLY? Who checks e-mail by hiding the phone out of sight of everyone? Not to mention the dead giveaway of coming up with an answer. I yelled over hell no you were not checking e-mail, I saw you. So I get a glare from her and a couple of others, but you know what? **** 'em, it's super lame that they have to resort to cheating at bar trivia, and even more so that when caught told a blatant lie. On the plus side they are fat and are destined to die old and alone so that's something.

Oh look Chilltown is trolling me again and contributing nothing. That never happens. Why don't you go find some cute .gif you can post to compensate for being yourself.

I'm probably going to get banned in the NFL thread if I don't take a nap.

I would venture to guess about 55% person of men who rat out the fatties would not rat them out if they were hot, including Tu.q.

However, I also think only about 35% of men who saw it going on would have ratted out the fatties in the first place. But that number could go up or down a little depending on what the stakes are.

If the culprits were hot instead of being fatties, only about 10% of men who saw it going on would have ratted them out, and that might be generous.

The only reason I think numbers would be this low is cause it's ****ing bar trivia, who the **** takes these things seriously anyway?
09-10-2009 , 02:37 PM
if the stakes were high (not sure what they would need to be for this to be the case), I am ratting our whoever 100% of the time.

The question is moot. Hot chicks don't play bar trivia. But in a fantasy world where they do, I have no idea.

Well for one, I think that cheating to win something that you don't think should be taken seriously is definitely lamer than taking it seriously in the first place. For another, you'd be surprised - the college-age people seem mostly there to be social and have a good time, but it's clear that the older contingent definitely takes it seriously, and it's not just about the $40 first prize or whatever. It's about them not having a whole lot else to look forward to in the course of their dreary middle-aged lives so winning at bar trivia is a beacon of light in the darkness. You'll be there one day, trust me.

Also, Franchise 60 didn't get the hammer because of what he posted here. The posts were reported by a couple of people and couldn't be ignored. Franchise 60 and caustic posters like TSC and TNM are a pretty bad combo to be sure.
