One might also ask - what kinds of person thinks this will make a great president?

I'm not saying you absolutely have to be a blithering idiot to think this is presidential material. But really. You're not pulling in PhDs.

He's got pretty broad support. Anecdotally I know some big time NYC lolyers who are big on the TRUMP train. Sure, lots of stupid people support him too, but stupids vote too.

Yeah I mean there are the people impressed by how well he's pied piper-ing the stupid and/or racists. Those seem to be the only Trump supporters who can work the internet.

Yeah don't mind me

I do work with lots of super smart and successful people who are all in on trump though

I don't actually care who wins but if I had to pick it would very easily be trump

Would you say you and your coworkers are in the "impressed by how well he's pied-piper-ing the stupids" camp? Or is there something else you like about him? If so please articulate. Do you think he'd be a good president? And if so what would he do better than anyone else?

So why do you and your coworkers support them so strongly?

I guess it's not too surprising if a bunch of finance guys have a thing for alpha dog Trump.

I also think it is relieving to see someone who doesn't care about being PC and hurting people's feelings. Sometimes you gotta call it like you see it.

Again I'm not someone who pretends to know anything about any important political issues and I don't care about any of it enough to vote so I can't speak for people who actually really care about this stuff.

I wonder who we'd elect if the barriers to entry for VOATING were as minimal as they are for POASTING.

I think it'd be Trump tbh.

If Trump does well in Iowa despite the lol caucus system then I will finally believe he's a real candidate. He's still a clown.

I just can't fathom people showing up at a school class room with 30-50 other people and speaking up in support of Trump or raising their hands in support of him where other random strangers can see their idiocy on display.

I was curious about this so I did it myself. To what I am certain is no one's surprise, I got 99% for Bernie Sanders.

Also got 93% for Hillary Clinton, though-- higher than I thought-- and 73% for Martin O'Malley.

Highest Republican was Rand Paul at 41%. Then Trump at 21%. Makes sense; Paul is the only one whose policy platforms are substantively different than the other candidates, and Trump has expressed so few specifics that it's easier to have fewer disagreements with him.
