It is inferior! Those folks are the ones who are treated unfairly in society

Ok well that's silly because if I tell you that I would choose 2 out of 3 of those, no way I'm dealing with birthing a child, how would I even prove it to you. Soul Man was just a movie, a great movie, but just a movie.

You're saying if you had your way you'd be a gay minority but I wouldn't believe you?

You're literally never going to convince Eddy that racism is a larger problem than being called racist. All you're doing is confirming his belief that there's two sides to every story.

Not everything is a hate crime eddy, but it's certainly not up to a white guy to decide what is and isn't racist and every post you're making about the subject is genuinely laughable and the perfect yang to the yin of the lol overly PC

It's like all these Native American tribes demanding redskins change their name cuz it's offensive and all the white people opposing that saying 'gtfo we're honoring you, this isn't racist'

Ya no, it doesn't work like that

I'm saying why ask the question. If anyone ever says yes, how could they prove it to you?

why not? I feel pretty comfortable calling a lot of things racist and I'm a white guy? Why should I not be allowed to call out racism and decide that something is racist when I see it just because I'm white?

chads, have you ever thought your life would be easier or that you'd have less bigotry directed at you if you were straight?

It's rhetorical question, meant provoke thought in the person being asked.

Answering yes or no is irrelevant.

Wikipedia probably has an article on rhetorical questions. This could potentially help you understand.

It was a rhetorical question.

He's lying to himself by not even letting himself answer the question it's just "no matter what I say, you won't believe me."

He's the case study in not understanding privilege. I've gotten out of so much harassment and tickets by cops from being white and well spoken, I can think of each example and if I was a minority I know it would've played out different some of the times.

I know when I walk in a store all eyes aren't on me by the shopkeeper. I've posted it before but I know what it feels like to be treated like an outsider when I visited Utah, two seconds of that was a gross feeling.

Oh my God

He's saying that *denying* something is racist has no merit coming from the group doing that particular something

I'd actually pay money to see eddy approach minorities in different circumstances and ask them if they would rather be white. This is a great business opportunity!

I've worked at a restaurant and know how "blacks don't tip" and "****, it's ****ing gypsies" is a very real thing that impacted the service they received.

he says "is and isn't" not simply "isn't"

this is different than the usual "you can't decide that this ISN'T racist because you aren't part of the offended minority" argument

Letter of the law vs spirit of the law.

You know what he was trying to say and you were being a nit.

You have to be able to put yourself in other people's shoes. But you have to recognize the circumstances that they are in and recognize the alternate reality you could be in.

I can put myself in the shoes of the people in the Rust Belt but they're being conned. Standard right wing pro-capitalism policies aren't the answer. Being ultra nationalistic and isolationist may end up helping them though, honestly. It would just be at the detriment of the country as a whole re: free trade.

I'm willing to believe you Eddy, but can you explain how your life would improve by switching from a straight white male to a gay, black male?

Now I don't know for sure but this is what I picture my life being.

Double household income
Better dresser
Definitely be in better shape
Be able to play PS4 with my partner
Dominate sports leagues with my partner
Unlimited handys
Steaks on the grill every night
season tickets to all the local teams
Nicer car

That's all I could come up with for now.
