It was just a poorly designed challenge from the start (along with some others). Don't have an individual women's competition and an individual men's competition when you need one male/female team to be the winner.

Agreed. Sprinting and endurance are totally different. The guys who win marathons suck at sprinting relative to how impressive their distance rates are. Usain Bolt would lose to lots of average Joe's in a 10k.

If they hired some people that were talented at creating interesting events, and managed to get interesting competitors the show could be top notch.

MTV continues to insist on this idea of "Chaos and uncertainty about the rules generates great gameplay" when it does the exact opposite. If they just make it clear from the jump that it's a women's elimination, no way in hell does the house vote in the ultimate layup, and if they do, then Gabby doesn't have any excuse for wussing out and not taking out a girl who has done nothing all season.

Just give the players the information to make actual decisions rather than making everybody with gold skulls want to avoid going in at all costs, even if they don't think it's going to be their gender's elimination.

Keeping a partner is a tricky choice once you get a skull. When you don't know what gender is going in, you want a partner that is on the same page about going in. Darrell wants in bad, and now he has a partner that definitely doesn't want in. A partner switch to a guy like Fessy who has no interest in going in would make more sense. Sucks for Darrell.

Also, lol Gabby. TJ should've just sent her home on the spot. Would've been hilarious.

Lolo should've told Gaby/Devin that if she gets put in, shell be their minion for the rest of the season.

I think it should've just been 5 skulls each from the start without the ability for anymore challenges for the guys and girls, would've been high stakes from the start imo.

Lolo is getting way too much airtime considering it's clear she nor Nam is ever going to the finals or even getting a chance to. Also, it's easy to see why Lolo is still a virgin and single, no man should have to deal such a attitude.

Random thoughts from the episode:

Amber B getting gifted a layup of an opponent after she screwed up the previous week is wild.

Amber B getting mad at Gabby for putting her into the crater versus said layup was just amazingly dumb.

Amber B not jumping over to a strong male with a gold skull is just dumb.

Amber B is just dumb.

The Big Brother contingency of the house voting in Amber M and Cory makes no sense.

Devin pushing to throw in Amber B and Darrell instead of CT and BigT was weird.

Nam had a random ITM where he talks about his back going out during the digging challenge, but there’s no visual evidence that he had an ailing back and there’s no other mention of it during the episode. That was weird and my guess is that it’s foreshadowing him straight up quitting.

It’s possible they were going to do men’s ? But than it was 2 guys without a skull and they couldn’t ? They haven’t said anything about what happens if two guys without a skull get sent in

I will say that I just cant see a situation where they tell everyone without skulls to go home and then start the final. I expect some sort of final elimination that all the skullless compete in or they keep going until there are just 5 left anyway

Having a good partner helps to win a challenge, which gives power options (and immunity to house vote) but that's about it.

This! They're physically the strongest couple + Nam is smart and should be good at puzzles but yet they have only come close to winning once, their chemistry must really suck for them to be underperforming so badly.

Gabby not going in there is really indefensible. Devin is not a great athlete and they were lucky to win a challenge. She will not get another chance unless they throw in Devin to get his skull, and it turns out to be a surprise women's elimination.

Lolo seems psychotic and Nam is just trying to avoid interacting with her as much as possible I suspect. She needs a partner like Bananas who would just rag on her and laugh, being ignored seems to be the ultimate trigger for her.

Yeah, Mark Long has been hyping up something like that for awhile.

I think it would work 1 time as a novelty act but most of the people are old now so they likely wouldn't be great competitors or add much in the drama department.

Better than the way the show has been trending atleast.
