Matthysse-Peterson winner tonight gets Garcia on Sep 7th according to Dan Rafael

Exciting implications here imo. i really don't rate garcia that highly he just is not particularly good at anything but is pretty good at everything/has a good chin/heart and I expect Matthysse to beat him if they fight and Matthyse is as good as everyone seems to think.

pretty cool that showtime has the whole 2 hour under-card before the main event.

something hbo is really lacking.

Pretty frustrating coverage in the UK so far, just the full replay of last weeks Jamie McDonnell fight.

Goddam I love Lucas Marrrrteeeen Matthysse soooo much! When he stomps out the kid from Philly in September he'll be "Undisputed Ironfisted Junior Middleweight Champion Lucas Marteeeeen Matthysse By KO", eat your heart out Jimmy Lennon Jr!!

No doubt about it, he looked like he was about to lose his lunch. Not that I blame him, he's on top of the hill right now, but UIJMCLMaaarrrteeeeenMBKO would take his best shots, smile, and beat the fight right out of him and the belts right off him.

After that, they can feed him Amir Khan, which would just be the funniest fight ever, and the perfect first unified title defense for LMaaarttteeeenM to put some chips in the bank.

Also Showtime kicking HBO's ass this year for sure.

Now that I've calmed down, let me say that there are probably JMWs to whom LMarrrteeeenM would give a lot of trouble, but I know he's a JWW.

Anyone else think Purdy's corner threw in the towel prematurely? I know him and Barker are good friends and no one likes seeing their mate getting battered, but Alexander was literally fighting with one hand and Purdy seemed like he could have gone 12 rounds. He was distraught and was begging Barker to let him continue.

I'm ok with the stoppage. I don't think he had any chance of winning at that point.

Yeah maybe I am naive in thinking he still had a KO punch left in him. He certainly felt like he did though.

Purdy's power was probably overrated anyway. he had only proved himself at British level, not even European.

he was walking directly towards alexander, not moving his head, and not even punching on his way in. a statue. fine with the stoppage.

btw alexander didnt look like he was punching "through" his target. like in football where you run through your tackle. considering the amount of times he landed clean and flush, purdy should've went down or showed a lot more damage than he did imo.

Watched the Froch behind the ropes episode. Excitement building! Actually paying for a boxing event for the first time in god knows how long. Could well be the Manny v De La Hoya fight.

Plenty of people talking about it as well which is great to hear.

The best thing for Froch and Kessler would probably be Froch winning a close, thrilling fight. That way they can have a trilogy and they can both stay away from Andre Ward. I'm sure they are both getting paid more for this fight than they would be for fighting Ward anyway.

Few things I would like to get feed back on. First how do we feel about this Marquez Bradley fight ? Is Paulie a real threat to broner? And lastly, how do we feel about mayweather saying catchweight of 147 for canelo fight?

I like Marquez fight is really awkward one that Marquez edges out. I dont see Paulie beating broner and I think catch weight is best idea for Mayweather Canelo. I don't know why so late in Mayweather career is he being pushed to fight at a different weight class. After rehydrating Mayweather was still only 146. all the criticism to me whether about this is a a little absurd. Pacman was the catch weight champion and received full credit for all of his wins.

Pacquiao definitely didn't get full credit for his catchweight wins, there was a lot of criticism from fans about it. Floyd talks too much, he doesn't need more than one excuse - all he needs to say is "I fight at welterweight" and leave it there.

I think Broner smashes Paulie. Most people think that Pablo Caesar Cano beat him and he just lost himself to Shane Mosley.

1) Marquez vs. Bradley is ****ing awesome.

2) Paulie could pose some problems for Broner if his head is not ready. But honestly, this is a gimme fight for Broner on paper.

3) It's a bitchmove. He's proven he can handle 154 and have beaten Oscar and Cotto at that weight. Why all of a sudden 147 for Canelo?

"I want Cotto to be at his best unlike Pac, that's why i fight him at 154"

I'll go so far as to say i wont be a fan of Floyd anymore if he doesn't fight Canelo. It's the last straw for me, and I've been rooting for him for 10+ years now.

How is catchweight the best idea? Canelo can't make 147.
Besides, 147 is technically not a catchweight. It's a "move down mother****er or i wont fight you".

Pac didn't receive full credit for his wins over Cotto and Margarito. Not even close, neither should he.
