That point could not have been made any more clear today. The system in place for Arsenal is a great one, but to elevate the team to the top there has to be a player that can create and finish on his own ... as the clinic by Droga demonstrated.

Well, getting caught offside about 5 times a match has to count for something, right?

Really, I really don't know what happened to him, either. He probably showed too much early in the season and now Wenger is afraid to put him down for a few matches.

I agree with your point but have a few questions that you as an arsenal supporter can answer better. The player who can create and finish chances, is Theo thought of that high in the organization that they will wait for him to progress into that player or do they uncharacteristically splurge in the transfer market for a proven striker that can operate in the current system?

I've watched the last few matches and it just seems like Adebayor doesn't give a **** what is going out there. Do you think defense's are keying on him, burnout, or just a dip in form. I know they advanced in the CL against Milan but I personally believe that the 90th minute header in the first leg along with many other chances in that game are part of the reason.

He could be getting burned out. Because of the injuries RVP sustained and the injury to Eduardo, Adebayor has essentially had to start almost every game. Bendtner and Theo can't start and play full games, but are effective as subs.

Will Wenger splurge on a striker during the summer? I doubt it, and he shouldn't have to. We actually have a lot of strikers. What I hope he does is buy some wingers and another CB.

I agree here. Wenger has a plan for Theo and this year is not the "make or break" year for it. Theo's time will (and should) be next season. For that reason, I don't think Wenger is looking outside for a striker.

Plus I think we'll see Bendtner play more as well. I think he would have stayed at Birmingham otherwise.

Nothing to say about today's matches except that Chelsea can probably count themselves lucky to get a point from that, and Mascherano's red was a joke but wouldn't have made a difference anyway

You're joking right?

Barf. Just back from the game. Apart from one magic night in Milano the team has really bottled it these last few weeks. Ugh.

I don't think you and I were watching the same game. We put much more pressure on Almunia than you guys did in the first half.

Arse opened well in the 2nd half, got the goal when we were asleep on the corner, and we woke up when we went down and Avram was getting butchered by the crowd for his subs.

Besides 2 RVP chances and the Eboue goal, I thought Arse were pretty anemic in the Chelsea half.

Edited to add: What has happened to Michael Essien? He must have turned the ball over about a dozen times tonight, and often looked lost.

lol sour grapes imo you can pretty much replicate that scene up and down the league these days bar a couple of grounds and the promoted teams.

Also ive lost count of hearing the away at Anfailed sing "you'l never get a job" and "your support is ****ing ****" until they get a tired rendition of Anfailed road.

Anyways have fun fighting it out in the battle to not finish 5th with teams on half your budget.

To be honest, Liverpool have been really, really unlucky today.

If it hadn't been for the fact that Man Utd are a much better team, with a better manager, then Liverpool might well have got something from this game.

HAHAHAHAAHAH

Our biggest problem is wingers. We have no one currently fit who can play either wing that can whip in good balls. The only ones who can are Clichy and Sagna but for as much as they do get forward, you can't rely on your outside backs to be the only ones to deliver good balls into the box.

Hopefully Theo continues developing and Carlos Vela can provide some spark when he joins next year. Since Rosicky is made of glass, I don't really count on him. I'd really want another winger to join in summer to replace one of the dumbest players in the EPL, yes you you stupid **** Eboue.

Totally asinine to sing an ex-skipper's name, imo. Particularly when the players have nothing bad to say about the current one.

It's a language thing. In american baseball for example, skipper means manager.

I feel it's pretty clear this guy isn't going to be managing for Chelsea much longer. The games that he's lost are all the games that we'd become accustomed to winning under Jose, or at least getting a point.

Keep in mind, the home fans have only see one loss at the Bridge over the past 4 years, and unfortunately after the Arse goal, you could see the panic in the crowd, with the disgraceful behavior booing at the Arsenal players who were injured. But I feel the chants toward Avram are completely justified.

Major matches since he took over:
@ Old Trafford: 2-0 Loss
@ Emirates: 1-0 Loss
vs. Liverpool: 0-0 Draw
Carling Cup Final vs. Yids: 2-1 Loss
FA Cup Quarterfinal @ Barnsley: 1-0 Loss

Yes, Chelsea won this evening, but when the fans started chanting, we had just gone down 1-0 in the 60th minute at home.

Grant will not be manager next year. Neither the players or fans have any faith in him or his decisions. Did you see the look on the faces of Makalele and Ballack when they were taken off. Priceless.

It's not Bennet's fault that Mascherano lost his head imo. He was out of line ever since he got the yellow card after fouling Scholes and yelling "**** off" to the referee several times. It was only a matter of time before he got sent off, unfortunately for you guys it was right before half time but you only have yourselves to blame imo
