also i am wondering where all those people who were like, "LOL at the idea of an offense running bad" are now??

I don't know if you're specifically targeting me with this quote or just randomly addressing a bunch of people on the board, but I'll respond:

I don't think, nor did I ever say, that an offense can't run bad. I certainly believe that an offense can run bad and I also agree that there has been some of that in the Red Sox offense over the last month and a half. Without a doubt. I just think they've been playing bad also.

To continue the poker metaphor that somebody used a couple of days ago, if a winning player is losing over an extended period of time, it's probably due to running bad, but also that player has probably been not playing as well as they normally do. I know that's been the case for my poker career whenever I've had an extended losing streak.

So, no, "the best players don't always win", as that poster said, but there certainly can be different reasons as to why. It's you guys who sound like the bad players who just think they constantly run bad without even possibly considering that it's more than just bad luck.
its SOOOOOO easy to tell if a team is running bad or playing bad usually. look at the underlying stats that go into scoring runs (getting on base, slg%) if those are both at high levels and a team isn't scoring then they are running bad. if they are at low levels, then they are playing bad. you were given the underlying stats on countless occasions that showed they were running bad, yet just ignored them because they didn't back up what you 'saw'.

Alright, dude, I'm done arguing. Seriously.

If you wanna look at the Red Sox as a world class pro who's running bad instead of a breakeven player, that's fine. It really doesn't matter, the end result is still the same.

This team has played .500 ball for almost 2 months now. And it wouldn't shock me if they played .500 ball for the rest of the season.

BTW, I also think it's amusing that you guys have come out with the "SEE, I TOLD YOU I WAS RIGHT" attitude after racking up a bunch of runs vs. the horrible White Sox pitching staff.

and you're not Darth Nihilus, I'M DARTH NIHILUS!

i think it's fair that we have a lefty with marginal stuff who infuriates others with his 3.5 ERA / 1.7 WHIP, since the sox get brutalized by that exact kind of pitcher all the [censored] time

If I were the owner of the Orioles or Devils Rays I'd figure I'm not winning the division anyways and get 5 of these guys for a year just to go 17-1 against the Red Sox and call Epstein cocked and laughing after every game.

quick question for you red sox fans.

is Fausto Carmona the guy who got brutalized by Ortiz last season with back-to-back walkoffs? if not, who was it?
