Dice-K > Peavy.
Well Peavy plays in the NL West which is obviously a huge edge.

It certainly looks like Peavy just got unlucky last year and he's a 135ish ERA+ pitcher for real. Even with health issues, I'd rather have Peavy for the money we paid for Daisuke than Daisuke.

Edit: The Red Sox rotation would be so sick right now if the Ramirez for Peavy trade had gone down.

Daisuke/Beckett/Peavy zomg.

SIR PLEASE THIS IS NONSENSE

Peavy is and has been the best pitcher in the NL, even when Carpenter was healthy.

My friend told me Peavy was on the waiver wire in their fantasy baseball league. I laughed.

I just think Dice-K is really really awesome, that's all.

I could very easily be wrong.

I think he's got fantastic stuff and is great to watch when he's on, but I think we might have to wait till next year to see a really good or dominant full season from him.

Just how awesome do you think Peavy is?

I think he's like a low 140's ERA+ guy, what makes you think he's better than that?

There are like 10 pitchers that are career 140 ERA+ pitchers. Pedro, Clemens, Santana, Oswalt and a few hall of famers. Low 140's ERA+ puts you amongst the best of all time.

Lugo's base clearing triple and Youks hit give Papelbon some rest! You think Dice-K is coming out for the 9th?

Dice K with his first MLB career complete game. Looks like they're ready to let him stretch it out.

it's not really a big deal for 26 a YO to throw 124 pitches

1. I wasn't referring to his career ERA+
2. I never said Peavy isn't awesome.
3. It's much easier to have a high ERA+ these days than in the past.

long innings are much more taxing on an arm than long games (pitch count wise im talking).

i loved watching the offense tonight. and not in the eighth either, im talking 1-7 innings when they just make a pitcher work so god damn hard to get an out...it gives me goosebumps watching full count after full count, foul after foul etc.

also the red sox now lead the majors in runs scored and runs allowed. yes you read that correctly, the red sox, of the AL EAST lead the majors in runs allowed.

The more I see of Pedroia the more I like. The kid is supposed to be slow but damn he showed great range last night, first making a diving stop to his right and then left, both times making nice throws from his knees.

They've been leading the majors in runs allowed almost all year. Their rotation and bullpen have been great. Now the offense is starting to come around. I'm getting giddy.

Yes. I noticed this particularly last night, too. Tek just kept fouling balls that were definitely balls, but close enough to swing at. Then he finally hits a pitch about a foot outside for a double down the right field line.

I really like this team.

they are on pace to win 114 games. Joe Sheehan is going to write about them today, which will be interesting. These are surely the good days.
