Borrowing Lindholm and Zadarov from Vancouver is niiiiice. We'll give them back in 5 and 7 years.

I'm sure Debrusk, Heinen and Forbort will make up for it!

Good swap

yeah durzi was like the 4th best dman on arizona last season (the year before he was only better than a retiring alex edler on the kings)
dumba was the ~6th, he was completely washed with minnesota too, but dallas gives him $7.5m/2 for some reason

jake guentzel getting $63m/7 is literally insane

devils giving pesce $33m/6 for being the 5th best dman on the canes, who rightfully prioritized the better jaccob slavin

i wouldn't sign ekman-larsson for more than 1 season, the laffs gave him 4

flames gave $29m/5 to this yegor sharangovich guy who was like their 9th best forward

so much crazy dumb **** happening, this is hilarious
does anyone know what they're doing?

I'd say that Nashville & Seattle definitely overpaid for Marchessault / Stephenson. Thanks for help bringing a Stanley Cup to LV, g/l at your next stops.

also Logan Thompson & Paul Cotter were traded for bags of pucks & training pylons. Expecting Alec Martinez to be gone this offseason as well. Their isn't gonna be much of the team left that won the SC just one season ago at this rate.

VGK seem really high on Tomas Hertl to beef up the offense but I'm not so sure (I don't trust any former Shark players).

Alexander Holtz might be a formidable scorer…but not sure he’s gonna be a guy Cassidy loves. Schmid might be really really awful.

scorching take: i would not sign a 30 year old 5'11"* goalie to a $62m/8 contract

* also he's probably not even 5'11"

Skjei 7 years for 7M average? He’s 30, he’s not even that good is he?

Playing behind Josi he will be very good. He's a solid top pairing guy and a really good 2nd pairing dman. Preds other signings today are iffy, they are going to have a very old core over the next few years.

so many terrible contracts being thrown out there

either nhl gms know some secret internal next gen analytics or they are complete morons

(very possible they have that, the nba does, big reason why evan turner kept getting big contracts despite mediocore stats/public perception was because he did certain things well that few other players did well so a bunch of teams would often feel like he was the missing puzzle piece)

forgot what it was and can't find it but it was something very specific, think it had to do with spacing, like people he passed to had most distance from themselves to a defender or something like that - heavily implying he understood the game well and made big impacts that didn't necessarily show up on the stat sheet

if someone can find it please share

Yeah, but they improved their scoring a lot. They could have a very strong top 2 lines, maybe only for a year or two, but they could contend with this lineup assuming things go well.

A lot of guys got paid fair value on next year's cap figure. And then GMs figure gravy based on some of the projections coming.

7M is definitely the new 5M. That much is clear. 5M is the new 3M.

All of them are going by projected cap as they are thinking it is going up same amount as this year the next few years.

That is my 1st guess.
