Game 6 was in LA.
Bit of a difference for whatever that's worth.

It better go 7 because,

1) I want Oilers

2) I have to leave after the first period of game 6. I hate watching recorded, but I'll try to do it. Strong possibility will be spoiled anyways.

3) Game 7 of SCF is fire

Definitely an important difference and distinction.

Speaking of the Kings, they just traded Dubois to the Capitals for Kuemper

i guess the capfriendly guy didn't scope that dubios is signed for $8.5m until 2031 uh2ci

Are the Caps aware they're allowed to look at capfriendly before they've officially purchased it?

Oh, Markstrom to NJ too? I take one nap and half the league is getting dealt

Rangers got off the hook for the Goodrow deal too. Must be nice

i was even gonna say that the rag$ should shop goodrow around and see if anyone is willing to take that contract because he shot 40% in the playoffs, but didn't bother because i didn't think any gms were that dumb anymore ... and then the sharks took him for free on waivers smdh

lmao chokez

Pretty weird that the Sharks wouldn't just let him get bought out, but I guess they couldn't risk someone else claiming dat LEADERSHIP

It seems plenty of fans of playoff teams are heartbroken they're not getting this POSTSEASON WARRIOR. Lots of strides have been made over the last decade+, but an absolutely puzzling amount of people still believe that there's a bunch of plugs out there that reliably turn into stars in the playoffs and vice versa

game 5, 5v5 xg: 78% panthers
score & venue adjusted xg: 74% panthers (2.34 - 0.84)

another bizarre game; the panthers dominated at 5v5, but the oilers dominated special teams where they won by a score of 3-0, buoyed by their 2nd short-handed goal of the series. bob was once again bad, allowing 4 goals on ~1.57 expected, while skinner was once again good enough.

best oilers xg: bouchard 59%, ekholm 54%, foegele 48%, draisaitl 38%, mcleod 34%
worst oilers xg: broberg 6%, holloway 6%, nugent-hopkins 11%, janmark 13%, nurse 14%

bouchard and ekholm back leading the way, but most everyone else got crushed at 5v5. gonna be wild if the loilers pull this off with so many guys doing nothing. not much to say, they got a lead and it held, stole one they needed.

best panthers xg: tkachuk 88%, tarasenko 87%, rodrigues 87% bennett 86%, lundell 83%
worst panthers xg: okposo 20%, stenlund 29%, lomberg 35%, barkov 53%, verhaeghe 55%

most everyone was good, the 4th line remains woat. at least they played lomberg as i suggested, he was best of the bunch last night. the oilers also scored on a powerplay that the 4th line gifted them; their minutes remain low, but they should be ~0.

My favorite joke in this vein is that after acquiring CapFriendly, they had to acquire the most cap unfriendly deal in the league to remain compliant.

Penguins resign Neddy for 2.5 per…does this mean they’ll be trying to get rid of Jarry? I sure hope so.

In case anyone is wondering why the Leafs have not done anything yet is cause they like to do everything last minute! ARGH!!! Drives me insane. Like you have lots to do this year like get going on some of this.

Bertuzzi talks are progressing on some issues but I think the aav and term are sticklers.

checked capfriendly, leafs have a surprisingly high 18 million of cap space

this is a real opportunity for them to shore up their defense

then i imagine tavares retires after next season - if not then he'll definitely be signing for less - can't imagine resigning marner next year would cost anymore than he's already getting paid

if they can find some decent and cheap bottom 6 forwards, a passable goalie and a 2 good defenceman with that 18 million (definitely possible) then i'd say they'd be a top contender next season

that top 6 offense is terrifying they are like a slightly less top heavy version of the oilers

of course they'll instead give domi/bertuzzi/samsonov 5 million each and then hope to patch up the rest with AHL players
