Wow, Roger Goodell has lost his damn mind.

He fined Myron Pryor $7500 for his hit on Brett Favre, where he puts his facemask into Brett's chest, then it rides up to his chin. Goodell might as well just come out and say "Whenever you make a hit that knocks a guy out, especially a QB, you're getting fined."

he did hit the chest first but again he clearly dropped his head and led with his helmet. it wasn't as bad as the harrison hit that people were trying to defend but either defensive players will learn to stop leading with their helmets or they will keep getting fined.

I think it was the fact that his helmet eventually hit Favre in the head (chin) - it doesn't matter if it started on his chest or not, it ended illegal

but I think the size of the fine indicates that Goodell realizes there wasn't bad intent and he was probably trying to avoid his head. mostly.

and led with his helmet
I really don't think this was the problem. I haven't seen the replay, but iirc he led with his face, not the crown, which i think will be treated differently. if he doesn't end up hitting favre's chin, no way this is a fine.

yeah ok he led with his helmet. still, I think the fine was for ending on Favre's head. if he aims 6 inches lower than I doubt anything happens

Wonder if there is a fine if Favre wears a better chinstrap then the one he has used since he was in high school.

freeman is not good. he has done some good things for a player at his developmental stage, huge difference

edit: also you ranking him 11th is lol

freeman has faced some terrible defenses but seems pretty decent for a 22 year old surrounded by trash. however the rest of the team is the trash that is surrounding him so yeah they aren't good. maggert is a crazy homer ldo.

I think Freeman is better in his second year than Flacco was in his.

Last edited by BadBoyBenny; 11-05-2010 at 04:58 PM. Reason: comparing them cause of similar draft position in consecutive years ldo

Vikes might fire chilly!

Cutting ties with Randy Moss almost cost Vikings coach Brad Childress his job.

Vikings owner Zygi Wilf was so irate with the handling of Moss' dismissal that he delayed Moss' placement on waivers so he could weigh firing Childress and retaining Moss, a team source said Friday.

Moss was placed on waivers Tuesday just four games after Minnesota acquired the mercurial wideout in a midseason trade with New England.

Childress informed the team of the decision to waive Moss on Monday at a team meeting.

According to a source, Wilf arrived in Minnesota on Monday, where he observed practice and met individually with key players to gain a sense of how the team was responding to the crisis.

Apparently Wilf was so mad at chilly he considered firing him instead of waiving moss...

You don't want the owner firing a coach because he was angry with him. Thats not going to go well with future hirings.
NFL Week 9 Discussion Thread (Advanced Cardio Tips ITT) Quote

depends on why he was angry. if he was angry b/c the coach circumvented him in making a personnel decision, then yes i think that's a message you would want to send to future hc's

edit: and yes, also if you are angry b/c he makes ******ed decisions

Exactly. You want him firing the coach for being a ****ing ******, which also applies.

Yeah he has plenty of cause to fire Childress besides just being angry. 2-5, completely inept, possible child molester, super douche

I think it was pretty clear those were the options Zygi had. I think he has basically given Chilly the rest of the season to try to fix the team, I am terrified they will go on a run now because they have such an easy schedule coming up.

Plus TJax has gotta start playing soon. Epic charge for 9-7, Chilly stays.
