they have the foundation for a great team. give this core to a competent front office and it is a contender in 2 yrs easily.

Bengals are sitting pretty into the future, lol Raiders. Lots of young talent there. Probably gonna get worse before they get better like Tampa did but within a few years with the right moves they are in the right position to take the reigns.

It's like saying that just bombing it out to Randy Moss is not sustainable. Sure it is, ask Culpepper. That's one thing I am most certain will continue to be there consistently. If Jahvid Best could fix his brain it would open the field up side to side.

The front 4 pressure from the bengals, has been really good and its not like the Steelers have been good in pass protection in years. All reports Ive read are optimistic that Dunlap, Rey, and Pacman will play and those are critical for the Bengals.

As weird as it may sound, I think Dalton will be just fine in the game. Neither team is going to be very successful running. Scary thing for steelers fans is I think Tomlin might try to come in and be stubborn and "get back to the lolsteelers run da ball" style. The quicker both teams change to a ~2-1 pass to run ratio the better both offenses will be. I think Dalton will have more time to throw than a lot of people think and his best attribute so far has been how quickly he gets rid of the ball.

I expect AJ Green to have a big day regardless, especially after reading the profootballfocus article about Ike Taylor just being ok, not elite, and not belonging in the same sentence with Revis. Very good read if interested http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog...cal-deception/
tend to agree about dalton being under pressure. do the steelers have strong interior pass rushers? bengals tackles are pretty good at pass blocking, esp whitworth. i would be surprised if they got hammertimes. i know rivalry game lol and stuff but the bengals have played the steelers and ravens damn close the last 3 yrs.

I'm hoping Burleson snaps out of the funk he's in, especially if Best is out next week vs the Bears. If he can produce 5+ catches along w/ the standard MegaPWN we're going to put up some points that will be hard for CUTLAHHHHHHHH to match.

Isn't that exact thing that got Mike Tice fired?

The problem with having the Lions high is that they don't really have any real good wins. They lost to the two best teams they've played (albeit by 1 score each time and were a 4th and goal from the 6 stop from beating SF), but their best wins are probably home vs. Chicago and @TB. Being 4-0 on the road is good, but I think the Lions are still untested. They've proven they can hang with good teams, but can they beat them?

I actually think the Lions match up better with the Packers than almost any other team, but I don't think the Thanksgiving crowd will be quite as raucous as the MNF crowd vs. the Bears.

Win over Chicago next week and they're 7-2 in very good shape for a WC spot, lose next week and they're going to have very little separation. I think right now about 5th to 7th in the rankings is right for the Lions.

anyone who actually was paying attention was saying no no, they have a cake schedule and are around an average team. ocho and TO were not good and their rec core will be much better. the d lost joseph but they picked up 2 linebackers and booted dhani jones old ass to the curb. their dline has shown improvement every year and the pertinent players (dunlap, jonson, atkins, rucker) are entering their primes.

i actually predicted they would win 10 games and make the playoffs bc of the cake schedule.

yeah sorry about the SF thing.. i mixed up the schedules between the bengals and the steelers.. just replace sf with houston and its still a loss..

the bolded part is what i find odd with peoples predictions.. i dont think 10 is enough to get into the playoffs in the afc(ravens and steelers should both be over 10, and 2 of the AFCe teams could easily be over 10).. and they are more likely to get 8 or 9 than 10.. they are overachieving as it is with both running and passing offense in the 20's in the league.

i just think the media loves the idea of "up and coming" teams and people are just following along.

Lions are not in trouble of failing to make the playoffs. Even with almost guaranteed wildcard this team is perhaps the 3rd most likely to ship playoffs in the NFL.

heh, id much prefer to play sf than houston.

how many times have 10 win teams missed the playoffs?

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm.... wut?

1.) @TB was a legit win w/ 105+ heat on the field that day. Plus, you know, TB isn't exactly god awful.

2.) KC not as terrible as once thought and they blew them the **** out.

3.) @Minny isn't elite or anywhere near it but their defense matches up pretty well with the Lions and they still came back from down 20 @ halftime to win.

4.) @DAL was a ****ing awesome win. How can you not call that a "good win?" They won that game with their defense. It doesn't get any better then that.

5.) CHI MNF SON. Nuff said.

6.) 49ers are going to win their division and can play anyone in the league tough. Lions are susceptible to the run, and they figured out a way to abuse the Lions' DL aggressiveness against them. Offense played like they were asleep and still almost managed to pull out the win.

7.) ATL game was garbage. Offense again played like it was asleep. Defense was ok/meh.

8.) Blew out the Tebows at home. The same Tebows that just beat the Raiders.

Idk, seems to me like they have more than 'just a couple good wins.'

If I felt like making a list I'd rank them higher than the 49ers and Steelers, lower than the Ravens. Atlanta would be pretty much even. So between 4-6.

idk if i'd say plenty of players, but i'd def bet on there being a few, at least a couple. vince carter immediately came to mind, but for some reason his max reach is listed as 3'6" in the draftexpress database (lolwut). he's listed at 6'5.5 w/a 43" vert as well, and i'm sure he's long. howard is another i'd bet on. the listed 12'3 is prob selling him short since he was 18 at the time

edit: if 12'5 is legit that's a pretty ****ing high benchmark. whether it's legit is a diff question obv

This is what i thought when first seeing that sports science ****. D howard jammed easily on a 12 foot goal. No way Cjr gets up higher than him, or probably any random 6'8 dude in the nba
