lol wtf is this snobby, uppity ass hate for Hoke from Michigan idiots that I am seeing everywhere online? Hoke is a ***** boss.

Has anybody actually watched his teams? They play hard, they play smart and they improve every year. Dude is a solid coach.

They're starting a coaching search on January 5th, pretty sure at this point beggars can't be choosers

They really just should have said "Fire Greg, and then you get to coach until Denard graduates and if you don't win an NC in that last year, you're gone".

Every candidate I've seen mentioned seems like a terrible mismatch for their personnel.

Lol at a NC or else ultimatum. This is Michigan, they make legends out of coaches who go 2-8 in the Rose Bowl

My hate for Hoke comes from a couple of things.

First off, the RichRod haters always bring up his overall record at Michigan. Hoke's overall record is 47-50 in the MAC and the WAC.

Second, Hoke isn't going anywhere. I feel like it was much more worth it to keep RR on for one more year given the personnel and schedule next year. If things don't improve to the tune of 9 or 10 wins next year, then get rid of him and bring in Hoke. I don't think RR got a fair shot to turn it around here. Fire him to bring in Harbaugh because this is your one shot at Harbaugh. Don't fire him to bring in a guy who will be there next year or 3 years from now.

This is literally _exactly_ how I feel.

I know he started pretty low but Rich won 3 games then 5 games then 7 games. The pieces looked like they were finally coming together, and the offense was insane this year with Denard as a Freshman, imagine how good it would've been next year.

Fire Greg, figure out how to get the defense medicore, win 9 games next year, maybe beat OSU and a MSU, improve the defense again and try to contend for a title in 2012.

Like it just seems such a reasonable thing, the only reason I can see firing Rod makes any sense, like you said, is if they can only get Harbaugh RIGHT NOW. But since they obv aren't, it seems really, really ******ed.

We all know what's going to happen, Harbaugh pulls a Saban/Petrino in the NFL and replaces whoever the schmuck is who ends up taking the job this year. It's destiny

He's a solid coach, but he's 3 years older than Bob Stoops, only a few years younger than a Ferentz or a Dantonio. Anyone they hire outside Chip Kelly has a 4 year project flipping that roster as it's constructed. He's not a fit guy, and he's in his late 50's by the time he has even a chance to make a run at anything. You can find a younger coach who has accomplished as much as he has. Just doesn't seem like a good fit if Brandon is talking about spending money.

If he wasn't going to get Harbaugh this firing should have happened a month ago or a year from now. This year's recruiting class is F'ed

Well obviously I'm not serious- but more plausibly I can see trying to come to some arrangement that says "We do not think you are the guy long term, you are however the best guy in the short term, so we'll let you stay around a bit longer until you've outlived your usefulness and then unless you prove us wrong, eat a dick".

One wonders if he saves his job making a big showing of firing Greg after the OSU game.

MSU Scout is confirming Manny Diaz as Texas D.C. Pretty much the same thing from Texas "insiders". Bo Davis from Bama was officially named the DL coach too. Chryst is still the big name for OC, his if he wants it. Also still looking for OL and S&C.

As much as I hate to compliment Mich, I am impressed they fired a coach who had improved the W-L record every year, just because he was not good enough. I couldn't find a single example of a team that did that.

3-9
5-7
7-6

Today is bad news for the opponents.

Not because RRod is a bad coach, but the RR:UM -- Oil:Water was hilarious.
