Did you know the Nugs are 7-18 away from home? Must be nice getting all those teams on second night of back to back at altitude.

If only jwax posted on this board when they lose instead of slanking away only to come back when they win.

Nah it’s because you can’t take L’s. Can’t take the fact that nobody wants to play with Fuss. They all say they do, they all leave like he left Gary Harris.

From the 2016 WCF thread. How far we done fell.

That was in reference to your betting, and I know you're rock solid there. Your posting, however, drops off when OKC is going through tough times. And as far as me tarding up the thread, my Nugs/content ratio >>> yours with the Thunder.

I really really like what I saw from the Thunders today.

Watched it with some friends and the big topic that came up is ARE THE THUNDER BETTER WITHOUT MELO. They had a big run with him, then lost 4 straight with Melo playing pretty poorly, and now this win.

It's hard to say. Melo seemed to have gel'ed a lot better and deferred himself to the clear #3 option which is good in that Melo isn't a #toxiclockerroom but runs into the problem now that Melo isn't even good at shooting the basketball anymore. This year: 43/35/77. Not bad but...

On the other hand, take Melo out (make him come off the bench) and... you put two of these hustlecats (Grant/Huestis/Ferguson) on always: their job is to be athletic, fast, long, explosive wings who play great team defense, cut like mad on the offense, and make every single hustle play. A Westbrook/PG/Adams offense would really thrive would those two guys. Very explosive. And we haven't seen that in the NBA. One team that really pushes the 'energy' and out-hustles to wins. No grit-and-grind, the wave-after-wave kind. Could be a interesting factor if other teams can keep up with real fanatic movement. Really sucks Roberson is out. This team could have gone down as one of the great elite defensive teams if they traded Melo for a Danny Green or something. The potential is there. There's not a single team with more energy than the OKC rn. Very fun team to watch.

Steven Adams is going to be an all-star (or all-star level) player in 3 years.

OKC is one good piece away from being something that would be real against Warriors. Carmelo + all in on Oladipo/Aaron Gordon.

I think he's close now but less confident he'll continue to improve as Russ ages--he just gets so much of his looks from the attention that 29 year old Russ provides. In 3 years Russ will be 32 and likely a different type of player.

That's the big reason why I think PG13 is bouncing after this year. Their likely first-round matchup is the Wolves sans home-court, and KaT and Co are 3-1 vs Russ with the last matchup being a blowout. If they manage to get out of round 1 it's a date with GSW/HOU who isn't going to perform like we saw tonight and Russ isn't going to godmode on jumpers early on like we saw here, so imo best case scenario is they'll lose in 5 against GSW/HOU in round two or lose in the first.

Come summertime PG13 is going to look at the roster and see an aged Melo on the hook for another year (I think he's a lock to opt in), Russ about to turn 30, and then see that even after Melo is off the books they are well over the cap and their picks locked up ftmp.

LAL is much worse right now, but if you factor in the improvement of their youth for years to come plus his CA ties, it doesn't seem like that hard of a choice for someone with a few more years left of his prime and a game that should age well.

This plus both LA teams just play a more egalitarian brand of ball, which I think players have wanted to experience post-Russ.

Ferguson took 4 shots in the 5 games he started prior to tonight for a total of 2 points. They like him long term, but he’s not the answer this season. Grant is solid and Huestis has been very hit or miss (shooting 23% from the FT line on lolsamplesize).

They have a move to make, but unless Presti Prestis again for some move no one sees coming, their ceiling is much harder to reach. Neither Bradley nor Hood move the needle much imo.

They’ve shown up for nearly every “big” game this year (GS 2x, Cle, Hou, Tor) but it’s probably not realistic to think they could make a legit run without Dre as currently constructed.

Warriors are playing disgusting basketball right now. Sporadic effort and even more sporadic concentration.

There were a lot of Boston fans at the Raptors/Celts game yesterday, a lot of respect if they made the midweek trip for this game from Massachusetts. (~ 1000 of the 19800 in attendance)

It’s probably the same price, if not cheaper. Tickets to all Bos events are ridiculous and that doesn’t include parking. If I want really good seats to a Sox game, it’s cheaper for me to drive to Baltimore and see them. I’m assuming it’s not much different then seeing the C’s in Tor
