If it weren’t for their Denver trades they would be the Kings.

Denver has been rebuilding for three years and already managed to field a younger team that’s worse by a whopping two games despite more injury issues and not getting a bunch of opponents who have nothing to play for.
Who's the biggest FA signing in Denver history ?

But I agree with you, Jazz would be in a terrible shape had they not found a stupid team to bamboozle twice in 4 years. But they did

Gotta be Kenyon Martin. Was considered an all-star caliber PF at the time and rising star after going to 2 finals with the Nets and had the pedigree of being the former #1 pick.

I know people will say Millsap is/was better but I'm going by what Martin was considered to be at the time.

Wasn't he a FA though? Sign and trade where he got the max which was like 6/90 or something.

Noze, the proper troll is to know long ago that DEN is guaranteed to narrowly miss the playoffs and let it sit and fester.

I can't wait to see both NOP and POR get absolutely crushed in the first round.

Let's say Lebron goes to Los Angeles. How realistic is this trade (w/ the assumption Lebron demands certain trades to be made which means the Lakers won't get fair value):

Bledsoe
Brogdon
Middleton

for

Lonzo
Hart
Luol Deng

Also, any chance Charlotte accepts this:

Dwight Howard
Malik Monk
Marvin Williams

for

Jabari (S&T for $16 million)
Tony Snell
John Henson

I think Milwaukee has the most interesting offseason of any team. If they make the wrong choices they will have zero upside and zero flexibility. I think they need to trade Brogdon, Middleton & Bledsoe and take on bad contracts that expire by the summer of 2020.

PG- Lonzo
SG- Monk
SF- Hart, Sterling Brown
PF- Giannis, Marvin Williams, DJ Wilson
C- Dwight, Thon

w/ like only $54 million committed for 2020-21.

hornets are in a rough spot. bottom of the east seems to be coming up, so they won't be able to do much more than create low seed playoff contender for the remainder of kemba's window. can't really trade him either, but it's hard to see them riding out 2-3 more seasons like this. they need to bink a lotto pick

L2M report also said Millsap should have been shooting game-tying free throws in OT....

It's all rigged. Ok I'll stop.

@jwd - I don't even understand the questions.

I mean, I don't watch enough Milwaukee to even have a vague clue as to whether they need to trade, eg, Brogdan. My instinct is that they don't, but, .. hey-ho .. , I suppose it's possible.

What is not possible is that the Lakers trade Lonzo. Yes, his father is a pita. Yes, his shot is broken as **** and there are going to be all sorts of dramas over if/how to fix it. But he's clearly going to be a perennial all-star. And, even if you don't believe that, it is just abundantly clear that Magic is never, ever going to throw the towel in right now on the person who has the most upside to be Magic.2.0 that has ever lived (apart from Ben Simmons).

ok - so looking again: that all just sounds bat**** insane to me. Why to you want Monk or Dwight? Why do you want to get shot of Jabari and Brogdon?

Giannis
Brogdon (backup Della)
Jabari
Makar

seems like a pretty good core to me. No item amongst your proposed trades (excepting the impossible Lonzo for Brogdon) makes any sense at all.

If Lebron says trade Lonzo and I will come to LA, Lonzo will be traded.

To this I'd say "But why on earth would Lebron want to trade Lonzo? That makes 0 sense."

I mean .. possibly you are right formally. Although I'm not totally convinced. I suppose it depends on how much power Magic actually has.

I really don't think Magic needs to have Lebron in LA just to have the perennial best player itl on his team. He has to have a path to winning the league. Now, f'sure, Magic is probably skewed toward the big-name power of Lebron, but he has to think about how to put a championship team around him immediately if he trades for him

I don't see that is possible - or that Magic will convince himself that it is.

I think Magic's best option is to wait for other all-stars (eg George) to arrive without effort/stupid demands - and develop what he has. As a Lakers-fan I'm not pessimistic about the direction in which we're going.

Jabari sucks and has to get paid.
Brogdon is going to have zero surplus value after next offseason - he is going to get paid (probably) more than he is worth. (If they can extend him this offseason at a reasonable price ($8-10 million/year) I would be fine with it. But, there is no way he accepts that.)

That core you mentioned above is absolutely horrible to surround Giannis with. There is no shooting and Jabari is actually a net negative because he thinks he is better than Giannis and sucks up possessions that are better served with Giannis.

You saw what the Bucks median outcome is with Bledsoe, Middleton, Parker, Brogdon & Giannis. Bledsoe & Middleton aren't getting any better. Brogdon has some upside but not much.

They need to be proactive and trade Parker, Bledsoe, Middleton & Brogdon before they enter cap hell.

The idea is to have younger assets with contracts that expire after 2020. So you will have max space+ in 2020 and your roster will be peaking at the right time.

Also, I think it's obvious I don't want Dwight. He is salary filler because I think the Bucks should dump Snell & Henson. I want to get rid of Snell because he doesn't expire until 2021.

I think it's hilarious that you think that is a bad deal. Snell and Henson are net negatives on their contracts. Parker is soon to be a net negative at $17 million/year.

Monk has legit upside and the Bucks are essentially giving up nothing of value in that trade. They also get the benefit of getting off Snell's contract.

The Bucks need to surround Giannis with guys who can defend and shoot 3's. Jabari & Bledsoe are pointless. Brogdon serves a purpose but he is about to get paid. Middleton has peaked and has to be paid next offseason. Those guys are better used on teams who want to compete for a title next year than they are on the Bucks. They might as well get value for them before it's too late.

If the Bucks can open up max cap space someone will want to come play with Giannis.
