I think it's more accurate to say that "Adult Contemporary", much like Country, is cool to hate.

P Diddy or whatever he's calling himself now seems like a great pick

No, but seriously, I "don't like" Country - in some undereducated global sense. Undrafted standing by her man etc etc. (Ok, some of the cross over artists cross over to me w/e.) But I do see that there is a collection of musical ideas / genre / family resemblence that makes a whole. And while I'm not very keen on some of the key constituents, perhaps it's not for me to judge. (Obviously I do judge like crazy, but .. if we didn't we'ld all be effectively dead, so w/e)

Otoh "Adult Contemporary" doesn't seem to mean anything other than "this has been made so lacking in life and taste, and inoffensive to our target market" that it is in fact purely offensive without any redeeming features.

As this is my first "Adult Contemporary" experience I'ld be happy to have more information - particularly if I'm short changing the concept.

The John Denver pick is arguably the worst pick in SE history though. It's close between him and Rihanna.

Almost heaven, west virginia
Blue ridge mountains, shenandoah river
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place, I belong
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
