Yea, I would have taken Henley if Wrane hadn't.

Isn't this true of every single draft ever?

And in an enterprise that's so subjective, why not use the back end to take guys really like? Aren't we just fantasizing about our dream labels anyway?

I see your point (in case you can't tell, I've been inclined to draft value over personal favorites), and I'm trying to hold off for as long as possible on my personal favorites, but if you've got the major players of your label locked up, I don't see anything wrong with the approach.

Joe Walsh is the opposite of lame, moreso than any of the rest of the Eagles.

I was wondering if Eagles guys were ever gonna go. Sick value or ... why did it take so long, what am I missing?

i hate the ****in' eagles man.

first picks for sarcastic rat's label that I don't jive with. not big on SK at all.

I just listened to some of the tunes. some are pretty good. That Jumpers tune is great. However, they seem like a massive ripoff of a certain grrrrl power legend. At least one of the girls tries to sound exactly like her.

People on this forum tend to enjoy The Big Lebowski.

i swear i hated them before that. in fact if i had to guess a lot of people did, and that line came from The Dude just saying what we were all thinking.

"I wasn't thinking that!"

re: SK

yeah i kinda like them too, at least their album "The Woods". can't remember if i've heard much more than that. but obv the pick is huge value spew, i'd be interested to know if anyone else would have taken them in this draft at all (same for the conductor). but i guess you can never know that, i mean i think was somewhat concerned that i was thinking about it (i mentioned in some old thread that i liked "The Woods"). if he's happy with the pick, that's fine.

as for reading the writeups, i think i've read most of them. i tend to skim if i know the person or the writeup isn't that good. i'd be lying if i said i listen to all the songs though, which is bad because i expect others to listen to the ones in my writeups, lol. but again if i know the songs, or know i don't like them, there's no point. overall i tend to look closer at the pick, writeup, songs, etc if i'm unfamiliar with the artist, so the latter rounds will probably be good for that.

as for picking for "value" and "winning this draft", lol. i hope everyone realizes just how subjective this whole exercise is, and how it will be pretty much impossible to declare a winner, if we're even going to try (because i assume there is no prize). iyam, it's way more fun to pick people you like, fit them in with your existing talent, explain why you think it's a good pick, etc than to just pick the "best" person. i mean it's nearly as easy in this draft to pick the right people as some of the sports drafts. we can all sort by salezzzzz/RocknRollHOF/RollingStoneLists/etc and just pick big names pretty easily. that doesn't seem very fun to me though. i do give credit to the people who are still finding top talent though.

I'm a big Eagles hater, but I can see the value at this point in the draft. I think it's spew earlier since the band was collaborative in nature.

Barry Manilow

Welcome to Lounge de Needle Barry Manilow. Make yourself comfortable and lets go over some of the highlights of your career.

Barry Manilow was born in Brooklyn, New York. His career at the start of it was won of him single jingles for KFC commercials. At this point Barry was just pumping out #1 singles and albums. Barry would release the small number of 33 albums. He has had more singles than I care to count. FWIW, Manilow sang a bunch of Sinatra songs on an album he made as well. Badass MoFo. He has had not only an extremely successful music career but also has done some acting as well.

Manilow’s success across the arts is awesome as well. He has had 2 grammy awards as well as 2 emmy awards and a Tony award. Yessur. He’s been rocking out since 1973.

Here are some samples of Barry.

Round #11 Pick #26 Overall #226 Studio Needle Presented by GET ON MY LEVEL

Spoiler:
Thugication

Spoiler:
I’m not even gonna bother with intro lyrics because this dude is so much fire that I’ve already ruined it

Spoiler:

Shamele "Papoose" Mackie

Give me a lyricist and tell me he is GOAT. I’ll say fine…then I’ll throw on my Papoose mixtapes and sit back and enjoy true lyricism. His freestyles are just straight dirty.

Papoose is now my 3rd straight pick from Brooklyn. Place got some mad talent yo. Yeah he hasn’t released a studio album yet but he releases a mixtape every few months. I know this is an epic reach but Papoose is easily my favorite rap artist and everytime I hear him I just think, “holy ****.” I have all the faith in the world that he will be successful.

Papoose struggled for a long time to get signed. It wasn’t until he was outside hot 97’s studios in NY that undrafted heard him and brought him up. Papoose gained fame from this event and signed on with Streetsweepers. He won the award for the best Underground Artist. He’s married to a woman that’s in Jail for 15-25 years and married her while she was in prison. That’s commitment.

Going over Manilow and Papoose and them in my studio now. Quickly, Papoose is a sick lyricist and with the backing of my studio and big names such as Jay-Z, Nas, and 50 I have no doubt that they could help him rise to stardom. Manilow fits in perfectly with my “Las Vegas” Lounge group, considering he is a headliner out there right now. My studio just picks up again, and come on, you are getting more and more excited for the Sound Track of New York album.

Here are some samples of Papoose:

Hail Mary

Born to Win

Hustle Hard ft 50 Cent

And my personal favorite:

Victory Freestyle

Studio So Far:

Hip-Hop and R&B

Jay-Z - "Instead of getting kisses, he gets kicked” (Writeup)

Nas - "Bruce Wayne” (Writeup)

Luther Vandross – “Making you rornry” (Writeup)

Whitney Houston - “Cocaine’s a hell of a drug” (Writeup)

Mary J Blige – “DJ Pauly D” (Writeup)

50 Cent – “Wankstaahhhhhhhh” (Writeup)

Papoose – “G1, 2 and 3.” (Writeup)

Lounge/Jazz/Amazingness/ect

Frank Sinatra - "Knows people" (Writeup)

Tony Bennett - "More Swagger than Brett Favre” (WriteUp)

Neil Diamond - "Prefers Socks to Hats” (Writeup)

Norah Jones – “Save Tibet” (Writeup)

Barry Manilow – “Dropping Benjamin’s” (Writeup)
