i swear i hated them before that. in fact if i had to guess a lot of people did, and that line came from The Dude just saying what we were all thinking.
"I wasn't thinking that!"
re: SK
yeah i kinda like them too, at least their album "The Woods". can't remember if i've heard much more than that. but obv the pick is huge value spew, i'd be interested to know if anyone else would have taken them in this draft at all (same for the conductor). but i guess you can never know that, i mean i think was somewhat concerned that i was thinking about it (i mentioned in some old thread that i liked "The Woods"). if he's happy with the pick, that's fine.
as for reading the writeups, i think i've read most of them. i tend to skim if i know the person or the writeup isn't that good. i'd be lying if i said i listen to all the songs though, which is bad because i expect others to listen to the ones in my writeups, lol. but again if i know the songs, or know i don't like them, there's no point. overall i tend to look closer at the pick, writeup, songs, etc if i'm unfamiliar with the artist, so the latter rounds will probably be good for that.
as for picking for "value" and "winning this draft", lol. i hope everyone realizes just how subjective this whole exercise is, and how it will be pretty much impossible to declare a winner, if we're even going to try (because i assume there is no prize). iyam, it's way more fun to pick people you like, fit them in with your existing talent, explain why you think it's a good pick, etc than to just pick the "best" person. i mean it's nearly as easy in this draft to pick the right people as some of the sports drafts. we can all sort by salezzzzz/RocknRollHOF/RollingStoneLists/etc and just pick big names pretty easily. that doesn't seem very fun to me though. i do give credit to the people who are still finding top talent though.
