What the hell is cowboy doing on the prelims of a fight night? Excited for lawler's return in march but he should retire soon, he's for certain past his prime and got nothing left to prove.

Is there anyone on the UFC roster with more of a competitive spirit than TJ? How he even made this weight is beyond me. Dude was legit waking up around 145lbs & 8-9% bodyfat for his last fight at bantamweight & in 12weeks was waking up at 135lbs at like 6%bf?. If he performs well & wins this fight then every fighter on the roster need to revaluate their career & take notes.

I can't recall seeing a physique's like TJ's at a weigh-in before. People look gaunt and shredded sure, but it's like the muscles in his leg are almost falling off. What he must have done to make that weight I don't want to even think about.

Prediction: 10 minutes before the event starts, 1 fighter from every bout will pull out. JOJO will fill in for every single fight on the card. She will punch her opponent so hard that they will disintegrate into nothingness. 10-0 with 10 TKOs on the night. I guarantee it.

I was thinking the same about Cowboy then yesterday they had a press conference for this card and the 4 fighters were the main event and Cowboys fight so im thinking for the first card of the ESPN deal they wanted a good fight/fighter to headline the prelims on ESPN in hopes of getting more people to sign up to ESPN+ to watch the main card.

I didn't realize it was only on ESPN+ (I stream everything).

This is exactly the spot that Faber started requesting as it's the equivalent to being the main event of the free card.

I won’t be back home until after the main card starts. Will I be able to stream all the earlier fights? I’ve got espn plus but it’s not been explained particularly well. Will the espn fights be available for replay?

It appears events are available for a month on ESPN+. I can go on there right now and watch an NCAA Wrestling match between Princeton and Rider from December 20th.

Old model was
Early Prelim: fight pass
Prelim: FS1
Main Card: PPV

This card
Early Prelims: ESPN+
Prelim: ESPN
Main Card: ESPN+

Not quite sure why I’m still paying the same price for fight pass

Personally I dislike the new belts. They don’t look quite as good as the old ones imo and it’s going to look really weird when the belts are side by side in promotions like tonight’s. I know that will be a temporary transition and maybe they will supply alternate promotional belts but it’s just not an improvement and idk what it would have to look like to justify a change.

Oh, I wouldn't count on the prelim fights on ESPN ever being on ESPN+. I could be wrong, but doubt it.

I’m guessing this is an ESPN gambit to get more espn+ subscribers before they inevitably raise the price, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense to have to stream, then watch tv, then stream.

Im sure the younger people of the world have this figured out but my dumbass has to alternate the hdmi cable between the laptop and the cable box. On top of that I’ll probably miss Cowboy’s fight which is the one I want to see most!(I’m in a short term rental at the moment with no DVR)

There's been a lot of jumping around ever since we've had early prelims.

Historically preliminary fights were not broadcast at all. They were mostly just for the live viewing audience, and if a main card fight ended quickly they might insert a preliminary bout into the PPV. Later, the UFC started airing preliminary fights on Spike TV prior to PPVs. At some point they added Early Prelims, which were originally broadcast on Facebook, and later on FightPass.

You are correct that ESPN is trying to get more subscribers to ESPN+ by airing fights on ESPN. At the same time, they don't want ESPN+ to cannibalize the ESPN networks which is why I doubt the ESPN fights will ever be on ESPN+.

I'd recommend you ditch cable and get a Roku and a YouTubeTv subscription. Perhaps that isn't viable given your present circumstances though.

Cable works for me at home but I’m living in Hawaii for a few months and have shared cable with my landlords so I’ve had to supplement with some streaming stuff. NBC sports gold for premier league and espn+ for random regional CBB games and ufc.

It’s just dumb to me that I’m paying espn 2x to watch these fights and I may not get to watch anything except what I see live and I’ll have to switch platforms.

I was paying $200/mo for Dish Network after my contract expired. Had I reupped with them for another 2 year contract I would have paid $120/mo. Instead I went with YouTube TV and pay $37.89/mo after taxes, plus I can watch it when I'm in Hawaii.

Although, a moot point at the moment as ESPN is showing the end of the Duke game rather than the UFC. SMH.

Joanne: "I can fight again tonight. If Paige or Rachel go out I'll be right there."

It will happen. It's super sellable. The way he was talking before the fight about getting a top 5 guy next I figured they probably told him he's got a real good shot of getting Conor next. I actually thought they might give him Conor in his first fight back to LW but now it's a no-brainer.

I'm surprised this is a pick em fight. Roberson is a MW, sometimes LHW tweener.
