The way some remember this fight I'm guessing soon we will be told Condit fought with a broken leg and one arm tied behind his back blindfolded while he tossed Hendricks like a rag doll around the octagon with the ref begging him to show mercy.

I'm wondering if those proclaiming an easy Condit victory think the same about the points decision where he beat Diaz while backpeddling for much of the fight. Or do they have "Condit points" where he gets a bonus point each round for being Carlos Condit regardless of what he does? (I'm not a Condit hater by any means - I thoroughly enjoyed the Hendricks v Condit fight as it showed two different styles in action, I'm just a bit fascinated by this man-crush some seem to have for him).

The much bigger story today is Dana White offering GSP the choice of Hendricks or Silva for his next fight.

Seems to make more sense at this point to allow Hendrix/Weidman to get there shots before they continue discussing this fight.

That's what I'm thinking. There are two very obvious #1 contenders. Let both these guys have their shots, if GSP / Silva win then they are well and truly the undisputed champions of their respective divisions, then let them play at their superfight (I'm no fan of the superfight concept, there are weight classes for a reason). Anything else will leave a very sour taste in my mouth as a fan.

Henricks is calling for GSP to vacate the belt if this circus fight goes ahead, leaving Hendricks and Condit to fight for the title. Makes perfect sense to me, anything else makes a mockery of the belt.

I agree, except ellenburg or Mia should fight Hendrix... 99% sure that Gsp will fight Hendrix though

And you can't score a fight based on what he would do if he were on top if that never actually happens. Also position on the ground is a huge thing here - if B can easily get into mount or half guard then it would be very hard to say that A is controlling the fight on the ground. If on the other hand A can keep B in full guard and almost submit them on several occassions then it is a different matter. Also Condit did not do 85% of the damage on the feet, again that's just wishful thinking. More yes but not this obscene beating that you are making out. If he did 85% of the damage Hendricks would have been KO'ed.
I'm not making out anything. I gave a hypothetical toattempt to prove a point; I did not give a hypothetical that mirrored the Condit/Hendricks fight exactly. I'm much more interested in discussing the Hendricks/Condit decision as a means to discuss judging in MMA than I am in discussing the Hendricks/Condit decision as a means of backing the fighter you like the most.

I had condit beating diaz and losing to hendricks.

hendricks had the most powerful shots of the fights landed and the most rest was largely a wash in my book.

thompson just introduced his shin into Nate Diaz's forehead, violently. Never seen either Diaz brother stunned and KO'd like that.

This card has been excellent btw. 8 knockouts (tying ufc record with two fights still to go). Flying knee KO, headkick KO, elbow to the body KO, liver shot KO.

tons of great stuff.

Long time Diaz Bros fan. I'm thinking the sport of MMA and it's advancements are beginning to pass them by, seeing Diaz take that shin was sobering, Hendo may have a brawl on his hands.

Mir gonna Mir. I was impressed with his cardio for this bout! Normally he's gassed out in the 2nd somewhere.

Great championship fight so far

Melendez clearly took round one, and I think he narrowly took round two. Second was close though.

3rd round also razor close. I switched who I was going to score the round 4 like 4-5 times during the round. Really not sure how to score it.

great fight.
