That's why I'm a Faber fanboy.

Absolutely dominant. What's scary is that as good as he is, Jose Aldo and Renan Barão dominated him.

Good reffing to not stop the fight while Overeem was pounding Browne.

Seems that all fighters drink a cold glass of ****** after winning.

Reem did the same keep punching the guy in the face even though he's covering it up and his body is open thing v. Brock. If he digs a few to the body he wins that early. I would have bet Browne in play after three minutes, Reem was exhausted.

Chael/Rua up next.

Loser gets booted out of UFC? Both been sub .500 in their last 7 fights.

I doubt either is fighting for their ufc careers tonight.

Otherwise they'd be nowhere near the main event.

Rua lost to Jones and his war with Hendo in his last few fights btw. And sonnen is never getting dropped unless he shags Dana's mssus imo.

Fair point. But Sonnen is pretty much done wrt to title shots with a loss here. I mean cheesy trash talk can only get you so far.

I take you haven't seen the abomination that is Tito vs Rampage on Bellator and crossing over to TNA? Chael is better than the canned responses other dudes give.

wtf, its absurd how underrated Chael gets by some people. Chael's last 9 fights:

-One bad loss to Jon Jones in which Chael moved up to a 20lb higher weightclass to fight a guy who many think can compete at HW.

-Two losses to Anderson in which Chael won 5/7 rounds but lost both fights

-Wins over Dan Miller(unanimous decision), Yushin Okami(unanimous decision), Nate Marquardt(unanimous decision), Brian Stann(submission), Michael Bisping(unanimous decision), and Shogun(1st round sub)

So yea we know that Chael isn't so good that he can move up to a heavier weight class and beat the guy who many think is the best fighter ever. And we also know that hes slightly worse than Anderson Silva. But now take a look at the rest of his resume- its insanely good! Htf could anyone talk about cutting him?

Since March 2009 Sonnen has only lost to Jon Jones and Anderson Silva(and he challenged Silva more than anyone else pre-Weidman). Over that time he has beaten Shogun, Bisping, Stann, Marquardt, Okami, and Miller! Chael is a legit top 10 p4p guy imo.

Hey, I'm a Chael supporter and have much admiration for a guy who will step in there and fight virtually anyone on any notice when needed. I even chuckled when he said he goes into training everytime Lil Nerd or Wandy sign a fight contract, 'cause he knows they'll back out (or get "injured") and he'll offer to step in and fight lol. But when I think of P4P fighters, going to a Top 10 is overkill. If CS is a Top 10, he's certainly lower tier, and not in the top 5 imo. But I do love his style, fighting attitude and marketability! And he has earned his MMA chops and is WAY underrated.

Right on Fisher, Sonnen is a boss.

And if this new submission game is as legit as it looks? Watch out! It could be just the rejuvenator it looked like he needed after the losses to the two champs.

Chael has always been one of the very best round-to-round fighters in the UFC. But his primary weakness is an inability to finish. And when you reach main event status that issue becomes a major problem. Twenty-five minutes is too long to survive and thrive against the world's best fighters (especially when combined with his second traditional weakness- his submission defense).

Improving either one of these areas a couple years sooner would've won him the belt. He had 22 minutes to advance position and beat Silva by submission, and he couldn't do it. Then he had ONE triangle attempt to defend to preserve the decision, and he couldn't do that either. Since then he's submitted Brian Stann with an arm triangle and Shogun Rua with a guillotine, two very impressive submissions that he could not have pulled off earlier in his career. Had he brought those skills to the first Silva fight it could have been a very different story. If he's not a top ten pound for pounder right now he's damn close.

For his next fight a move back to 185 is in order IMO. The obvious matchup would've been Vitor Belfort, who has taken over for Chael as the middleweight gatekeeper who keeps slamming the door on would-be contenders. And the winner would be in line for the fight I'd really like to see- Sonnen vs. Weidman. As a back up I'll take Evans or Machida, both of whom should be dropping to MW too.
