sanchez just struck someone out with the bases loaded and the catcher dropped the ball

how would it be scored if the catcher just stepped on home plate instead of throwing to first?

A dropped strike with someone on first is an out.

Greear oversells porcello obviously, but a 20 year old that earns 1.9 WAR is pretty good imo. Porcello has been better than Scherzer this year as well (although LOL sample size applies obv).

Porcello's numbers, up until last night, were better than they were last year. I think he's lost some confidence because he's run so bad this year (.350 BABIP, was much higher earlier in the season) and that has affected his approach negatively. He'll been fine and back soon.

Jose Valverde 0.59 ERA.

I'm not sure, but I think that's kinda good, no?

It's almost as good as his 3.13 FIP.

I mean, come on...if you're going to knob-slob one of your relievers, at least do it over your best one (Zumaya). Valverde isn't even pitching that well, he just has a .137 BABIP and a 92.6% LOB.

LOL On what ****ing planet is a 3.13 FIP not 'pitching that well'? We all realize that Valverde is running really good. Thanks.

And Zumaya is not better than Valverde. Zumaya has done better recently though.

Good God, you Tigers fans are all delusional. A 3.13 FIP ranks him 45th in the majors for relievers. Zumaya is 5th.

Change min innings to 30 IP and he's about 25th overall. He's pitching very well.

He's better than Zumaya, in my mind, because Zumaya is probably the most fragile thing ever. Look through Zumaya's history, he gets hurt, he plays injured and walks a ton of batters when he does.

When healthy, Zumaya is clearly better than Valverde. Given that he's had 2 or 3 major injuries so far and puts a ton of torque on his arm, re-injury is likely and Valverde is better.

Not sure the Braves are real at this point. 10-0-3 their last 13 series.

Running hot doesn't apply to Tigers players, only everyone else in the league. All Tiger's players run at expectation.
