just looking at the top recruits this year should be easy to figure out who is paying based on which schools punched above their weight:

-Duke (Coach K GOAT obviously has too much respect for the game to pay guys)
-Mizzou (we actually know for a fact Michael Porter Sr. is getting paid)
-Zona (they belong so even though they're listed in this investigation I wouldn't say Ayton is necessarily involved)
-Texas (meh, Bamba could've been clean)
-Bama (how the **** did they get a top 10 guy in basketball?)
-Michigan State (Izzo probably clean and routinely lands good recruits)
-Kentucky (Cal is scummy, but if he's paying players why is he losing so many guys to other schools recently?)
-Miami (yea, top 15 bball recruits should raise eyebrows)
-Louisville (we now know Bowen's family was paid and Pitino is scummy)
-Oregon (meh, could be clean...we're no longer in the top 10 and they have world class facilities)
-UNLV (wouldn't bank on them being clean)
-Kansas (Self's best recruit being barely in the top 20 makes me think hes almost certainly clean)
-UCLA (meh, believable they're clean)

It's laughably naive to think that any major program is "clean," even if the coaches aren't paying players personally. Money comes from all directions.

There's 16 Euroleague teams with money that could use the top prospect already good

There's like 200 pro teams that could pay lesser prospects up to something like 100-200k. And all those teams are playing in pro league 30 to 50 games a season.

For players sure to go to the NBA they can protect their players up to 500k$ paid by the NBA team that draft him.

I'd classify clean as no coaches being involved or knowing of it and deciding not to take action.

I don't think any programs are 100% clean mostly due to the lol rules that won't even let you buy a recruit a Coke are going to be broken at times purposefully or accidentally. I do think there are plenty of programs that aren't paying players or their families or having others make these payments on their behalf though. If they were paying players then they'd get better ones from time to time.

If a booster is paying players and no one inside the program knows then the school is clean, even though they are benefiting, since they have no knowledge or involvement.

why don't the kids and families just ask for more if they aren't able to be charged? Seems like they have lots to gain and almost nothing to lose from such demands.

Also, why don't more schools just do what Mizzou did and just hire the parent and pay them above the table? It takes their liability off the table while costing them the same amount of money.
