Poor NZ. Reigning world test champions and losing to Bangladesh at home.

if it rains for 4 out of 5 days I think England have a fair chance at batting out a draw.

I have a $380 sweat on sub 15 overs being bowled today. I bought cat A tickets for my mother and me to go today but mum decided not to go for covid reasons, so we need sub 15 overs to be bowled to get our refund.

It's not looking great tbh - it's very humid and there's 20mm forecast for the day, but it seems to be holding off. realistically, I need a heavy blast early and then regular showers to deter them coming back on

I went to the Sydney test last ashes and it was 40 degrees and just unbareable. I'm shocked there's any rain at all.

Sydney has about 3x the average annual rainfall of the UK

Wow wow what an upset. I was watching this Ebadot guy in the first innings noting that he didnt bowl like someone who averaged 85.... He def has upped his game.

This is up there with the greatest upsets in the history of the game. Painful to watch but fair play to Bangla, they played great!

I love the fact that Bangladesh are doing the and they have a guy who averages 80 with the ball and 0.5 with the bat.

This is after 10 teats too.

tv said he started the test with the worst average of any fast bowler in history that has taken at least 10 test wickets. did great

Sounds like Taylor is retiring at the right time with the slide NZ is about to take in the test rankings.

You can include the whole eastern seaboard of Australia at present.

Did you end up on a drip in hospital like Root did?

England winning a Test in Australia would be a far bigger surprise than Bangladesh winning in NZ.

Disgraceful that Bangladesh has only played a single 2-Test series in Australia in the past 20 years.

Australia should declare. This is more than enough to win by an innings.

Usman should never have been dropped. That he was, is a symptom of racism in Australian cricket

Anything to back this up or is it just because he's not white and he was dropped?

stupid comment, your fishing expedition should warrant you being given a rest from 2+2 for a while.

I'm a huge fan of Khawaja, do think he's been hard done by and hope that he gets some opportunities to play more Test cricket. That said, he averaged 31 in his last 15 Tests, 27 in his last 10 Tests, and a mere 29 in his 12 Tests against England.

Many other batters for Australia have been arguably unfairly treated by selectors. Usman is =60th for most Tests played for Australia.

Fair call lol that was a baity post for the aussies in the thread. If it deserves a ban so be it...

Usman did drop his average to 33 in last 26 inns so it was prob justified to drop him at the time

The lack of diversity in all historic Aussie squads in general does point to systematic racism within the whole fabric of the game over there though... NZ is not much better in that regard. There is a massive potential player pool both sides have not accessed properly

Hands down England have the worst openers in the history of English test match cricket. Forget about Crawley as he should be out as that was a straightforward catch by Carey that he dropped.

Agree. There were grounds for his dismissal from the Australian team.

still annoyed that australia didn't declare on 200 just to have some excitement

this has been the worst test series I can remember.

It is remarkable that I can say this, but Burns can consider himself harshly treated when you look at the two openers that are there ahead of him.

jesus 36/4 at one point. glad i wasnt awake for that.

nice bit of t20 batting to pull it back, seven 6s in the innings so far

re openers lets just give up on playing normal test cricket, put livingstone and salt in to open and ask them to hit 100 off 45 balls

I went to bed before it started because of the rain delay. My kid got me up early and I watched from about 130-4 onwards.

Very entertaining and pleasing to see.

Lots of highlights but the top 2 have to be Wood smashing Cummins for consecutive 6s and Bairstow taking one in the box and not even flinching

Great innings from Bairstow, good to see some fight from England.

Crazy morning with England losing 3/0 off 70 deliveries. During that period, Boland was 6-5-1-2 and Green was 4-4-0-1.
