joe denly is coming down the pitch to nathan lyon and then shortly after sweeping it up in the air and it was nearly caught on the boundary rope

him and roy both have strike rates in the 40s

we are trying to bat out a draw

what is wrong with our boys

Tests went down to

1) Final two sessions
2) Final session
3) Final ball
4) Final hour

If England held the urn this would be superior to 2005.

Lol England. Wow what a beating inside of 4 tests and a reclaiming of the urn. England badly need to do a sweep of the local leagues to find a couple of under the radar batsmen they can develop into test cricketers. Cricket: Random Discussion Thread

Agree that this was completely ridiculous but both are hopeless either way I mean we've seen them try to defend also.

Butler and Roy are not test level batsmen. They need to be dropped but I dunno who can replace them. Denly might be OK as an opener, he certainly looked more steady and less hopeless compared to Roy opening. Maybe Stokes should focus on mostly batting in tests, and bat at 3 or 4.

Denly has scored a couple of fifties yes but at times and in certain innings has looked as out of depth as anyone I've ever seen.

I agree. He has badly missed the outside edge about 50 times so far.

Pretty sure we are used to these so bring it on.

England should name Ballance and Sibley in their team instead of Denly and Buttler. Put Roy as opener and just tell him to swing the bat.

I would give Buttler the gloves to see if it helps Bairstow.
