aw man thhis is good - more failure by the golden oldies. hopefully West Indies are good enough to force home a victory. my personal favourite of todays play was sammy ripping through the middle/late order. good stuff.

@innobystander India have now only
exceeded 300 3 times in their last 19
completed innings

India win is still odds on.
-----
Sri Lanka need 8 wickets in 20 odd overs vs Pakistan

to be fair it's the 3rd best attack in the world only behind Zim and Bangladesh..

I went to be when the score was 90/1, then dunno wtf happened.

WI are 125/2 in theory.

Will be interesting if India require ~290 with 2 days left to win. Should be big favourites.

India win 1.6
WI win 3.2
Draw 16/1

yes im hoping for another chanderpaul masterclass because it's hard to see india being so terrible for a second innings.

misbah slowly killing off all cricket for pakistan - just the 98 runs off 347 balls in the match

He's a decent ODI and T20 cricketer, baffling how he can be so slow in Tests.

I don't mind if we lose this test tbh, would make the series interesting and would cause an uproar here. I'd never want that against Aus, Eng Pak or SA but against WI our heroes getting hammered at home would be worth it just for the lol factor..

He seems like one of those players that either tries to smash it or just blocks - not really great at working the ball around. Either that or someone had a word in his ear just before play - "OK, no more than 100 runs in your first 347 balls. Understand? I'll set it up, right?".

lol he's played some really weird innings, none moreso imo than the world cup semifinal. just blocked for ages to make sure pakistan weren't going to win

West indies on the ropes at 204/7 (overall score)

Chanderpaul needs basically has the say in this being a close match or stroll for India

Chanderpaul lbw Ashwin

223/8

Would love to see WI find another 70. Not sure where they'll get them from though

Well, I think that was really well played by Shiv, Sammy, and Rampaul when it's all said and done. India is setting up for maximum lulz though.

276 required for india.

Would rather WI found another 20 or so, should be a good chase.

Credit to Dhoni with smart field placing for the final wicket.

If India opens with a 50+ partnership, I think they chase this no problem. If Sachin goes early they will probably implode.

Sachin 33* with another 124 required to win, so there is the possibility of his 100th century coming tomorrow.

Sad thing is he is probably fitter now then at any point in his playing career. Give him 2 months of training and he's probably still the best spin bowler in the world.

Fell asleep just as India started their Inns.

They're walking this, would like some drama tomorrow

125 needed to win

Yea the second part is sadly definetly true. Where have all the good spin bowlers gone?.

I think alot of it has to do with the fact that a spin bowler takes years to develop his craft compared to a speedster. Murali just had the offspinner when he started out and then added a bunch of different balls to his arsenal over the years.

It's difficult for a spin bowler to come into international cricket and blow you away. He likely won't have enough control over his variations. So they come in with like 2 different balls and develop more over the years ( or work backwards in the case of Bhajji).

SA v Aus tomorrow.

Looking forward this this, shame there's only two tests.

Yeah really looking forward to that one. It doesn't seem just hype to say that there is a real edge between those two teams.

I think I heard it's close with the betting, but I just have a feeling that Oz may take this one.

Could prove to be a blessing in disguise!

Odds:
SA 2.9
AUS 3.3
D 2.9

If SA win toss I think I'll lay Australia.

Just had a look at the teams and australia are outclassed in pretty much every department. Definitely the most interesting thing will be how Hughes copes with Morkal and Steyn who have both been talking to the press about how they are going to own him lol; Steve Harmison basically finished Phil Hughes career. I dont think there has been a player who has been more 'worked out' by bowlers in some time. Definitely interested to see how Marsh goes against good fast bowlers as well as thats still bit of a question mark imo. In terms of top end talent South Africa are right up there with England; cant wait for that series whenever it is; hopefully not two tests

I think people are seriously overrating our batting in this itt though

Watson - gun
Hughes - hack
Marsh - untested versus quality bowling
Ponting - finished, 1 century in his last 50 or something
Clarke - never performs against top sides
Hussey - 2nd best bat but probably past his best
Haddin - finished

That line up will get eaten up by Morkel and Steyn imo; and theres grass on the wicket as well

yeah I think also that because people argue so much over murali v. warne that it gets forgotten just how far ahead they were of the next best; their control was just unbelievable . The other think is that in Australia we also had MacGill playing state cricket who would have been about the top international leg spinner for much of his career if it weren't for Warne so we basicaly now expect that quality spinners grow on trees.

Yup, awta. Aus gotta home Watson just unloads on Steyn/Co and Hussey rescues them a few times. Watson against spin always brings the lols.
