Nobody was saying it was a penalty. People were saying he went down easily but he in no way appealed for a penalty and in fact immediately got up and told the ref that he wasn't fouled. That's why the lol Maguire take is dumb.

Agreed that hasn't always been called but it should have been in this case (and any in future like it) because VAR.

That's what it's for.

No argument with pen if Kane hadn't clearly fouled the guy first, but he did as you've already conceded.

VAR is looking for things that are obviously wrong. Something that would only be called a foul 10-20% of the time (and I meant that percent as the times it's called a foul when actually seen) is not obviously wrong.

There's only actually been one injury delay this half (Young). The only other significant delay was Colombia spending 3 minutes complaining about the penalty and it's pretty stupid if they get that time back.

A dive is an attempt to fool the ref. If you're trying to fool the ref you don't immediately get and up and tell the ref that you weren't fouled...
