Not the only one decision I've screwed up. Need experience, but this time around I will try to become a winner largely by the books and over here. The Dan Deppen will probably be my gospel when it arrives.

My turn play can't be bad because he clearly has bluffs. His bluffs are also more likely to be no pair + draws rather than pairs because they have showdown value.
I get what you're saying, but within his bluffs there are pairs, redraws to higher pairs, maybe even a combo with backdoor flush draws.

But I keep hearing it, so I turn around to see.... a guy on the next table stacking poker chips, like one of those home game briefcase sets with the decks of cheap cards and everything. So apparently I can't escape the sounds of live poker.

I think I'd raise to protect/convert my hand to a scooper. If you flat, there is 75k in the pot on the river anyway and you are virtually committed. I'd try and take advantage of some fold equity now with your stack. Neither of their lines look strong. My only concern in this hand is what super passive flats then leads the turn. Would he ever lead nut nut for half PSB. I doubt it. I raise.
