I'll get over there some time this weekend, tomorrow or Sunday, for a session or two of that. If I feel inclined, I'll stop by the casino where I last played five card Omaha-8 to see if that game is still running. I can almost guarantee it ain't gonna be pot-limit. Seems that the good players beat up the poor players too quickly for pot-limit Omaha-8 to be sustainable. (And the average dealer will have trouble computing the size of the pot, slowing the game to a crawl).
Bummer.
I went over to Hawaiian Gardens casino tonight, hoping to get some no-limit action. Alas, there was no no-limit game. There were a dozen of us on the waiting list, but the floor manager chose not to start a game. I signed up for the other Omaha-8 games, but there were waiting lists for all of them and after a while of waiting with no progress, I drove home.
On the way home I drove by Crystal Park casino, the last place I played five card Omaha-8, aside from private games, in Los Angeles county. Alas, no game of Omaha-8 of any kind there. Just fixed-limit Texas hold 'em.
Bummer.
