I'm willing to bet the election and give odds. We'll have to see as it gets closer. I might take a few thousand dollars in action. We'll just have to figure out how we can transfer the funds. PM me when the election gets closer.

My odds look scary when you type it out like that.... There needs to be an assassination clause. No bet if POTUS gets taken out before the count is completely in. Otherwise we can draw it up. I have to tread lightly cuz my chick keeps an eye on my $$$$. I don't know escrows here so...

most people find every electoral cycle boring, bar election day where the average dude actually watches a bit.

I found 2008 exciting and 2012 to be amazingly boring(romney iceberg floating in..o wait perry..no still romney iceberg...)

I wonder how many people feel the same way. probably a lot, but how many?

Neither would the average rich person, obviously. Everyone is getting richer on average, obviously. People work more, buy more things, maybe save a little, and get richer. And of course, technology advances. That's not the point, though. The rate of increase in lifestyle for the median worker in 1970 was higher than it is now. I mean, if I get laid off from my job and take another one for half the salary, I'm still getting richer than I was at the time I was fired, and technology is still advancing. It still represents a vast inequality if the rate at which the rich can increase their wealth is skyrocketing while the rate at which the median worker can increase his or hers is falling despite being more productive.

An easy +1667 dollars.

I wasn't going to make it that high though. I was going to offer 500 dollar max bet, so something like 2-1 or 3-1. But still, you should win easily. No one in the GOP field has a prayer against Obama except Romney, and he's going to probably get mopped up by the group who ran the best campaign in history.

It's really hard for you to lose, I would say. Of course, anythings possible, but I like your side much more than his.

I'm willing to bet on this; GOP candidate to win @ 3:1...

How much action are you booking?
10-19-2011 , 10:50 PM
I'm in on any credible 3:1 bet.

I want better odds now. I should have kept my trap shut.

Obama/Hillary was exciting to watch in '08 but the general was decided early. Still cool to watch the first Black man to be elected and Obama was such a rock star. It's safe to say that 2012 will not be as electric but I would be surprised if it doesn't go down to the wire.

There looks like there is going to be a long line on this, but I'll take 3:1 on Obama not winning.

EDIT: Yeah, when people are coming out of the woodwork to accept, you probably didn't set a good line

WTF, vultures! This is my bet.

Monkey and Wil, I'll agree to the assassination clause and book the bets. We need to escrow with someone so we don't scam each other. We'll make sure to find someone we both agree is fair.
10-19-2011 , 10:55 PM
Set a line and see what happens I guess

He got snap called by the world, lol

whats this mean? I'm unsure what your saying here.
10-19-2011 , 11:28 PM
Basically anyone could take those odds and make a corresponding bet on intrade so they never lose money.

What Ikes said. You bet 2:1 on Obama losing here and then go on intrade and bet on Obama to win at 1:1. If Obama wins you break even and if he loses you win 1.

Amateur hour stuff max.

You risk 100 to win 200 that Obama loses.
You risk 150 to win 150 that Obama wins.

Auto 50 dollar profit.
