There's 6785 precincts. I counted 22 of them. 1000~ is pretty good but twitter exit polls seem to be skewed toward the winner.

Based upon what analysis? He is obviously the most fiscal conservative but his foreign policy views are very much out of step with the Republican party. His views monetary policy and the drug war are unique and can't be classified as Republican.
I like some of his positions but classifying them as Republican defies logic.

Thanks, I thought maybe 10-15K people would vote in total so I thought the number was low.

Republicans are traditionally anti-war and especially anti-intervention, but obviously I agree that modern day "republicans" want to bomb and kill everyone who is not us.

Republicans define their platforms every 4 years. You can argue if they are not conservative with much more success then arguing Paul is a Republican.

Republican literally means someone who supports a republic.

Well, used to.

Sticking to original definitions of words is so useful. It's not like words change meanings over the course of time.

In context of this thread would also be helpful.

This is only true when there is a Democrat in the White House.

Lol....I hope you run into him in a few years and inappropriately blurt out a question about why he went home for new years when when he was leading in Iowa. Sort of like Frank Costanza...

You don't need to be in step with the Republican Party to be an actual Republican. The current Republican Party has shifted so far right that they're not really Republicans anymore.

I said he resembles a Republican, not that is actually is one. His views may be libertariany, but the real reason he's closer to what an actual Republican is than the other candidates is because this country has shifted so deeply into a simultaneous welfare and warfare state that it requires surgery to come back into balance. The other candidates are just band-aids that just perpetuate this shift.

Quotations around the word "republicans" is appropriate imo. True Republicans would not stand for bloating the size of government, letting religion hijack the discussion of policy, or debts and budget deficits to spiral ever-so-more out of control.

fyp. left/right can't possibly describe the level of psychosis that's taken over the Republican party

The GOP reflects almost nothing about traditional republican values other than talking about tax cuts and spending cuts that never come to fruition. Ron Paul would have been the standard platform many years ago, but today he is considered fringe and crazy.

What do you mean, Ikes? Abraham Lincoln and Ron Paul think almost exactly the same things.
03-03-2012 , 10:50 PM
Ron Paul still holding on to 2nd 12 votes ahead, 60.1% precincts reporting.
03-03-2012 , 11:00 PM
Called for R Money.

Wasn't Santorum polling ahead there for a while? Seems like Super Tuesday should be the last anyone will care about this.
03-03-2012 , 11:02 PM
Yeah, the field has exhausted itself now. Rmoney has it locked.

Can you express that sentiment in the form of a humorous gif?
