My wife and I are considering moving and have discussed Charleston, Tampa, Salt Lake City, Phoenix and San Antonio.

man even the places i love to visit the most are garbage in some way shape or form. #murica

places i love most tho, some i've lived in, in no particular order

san francisco CA- amazing food, weather, and navigability. dat home pricing tho
new orleans LA- french quarter.
asheville NC- probably the most slept on city in america, cant think of any drawbacks other than being in NC
NYC- amazing but prohibitively expensive
denver CO- like anywhere west of aurora is pretty tight but it's getting unreal congested. boulder is nowhere near as liberal as people make it out to be and the moratorium on new home construction keeps real estate prices through the roof
montreal QC- architecture and people. weather sucks tho.
ensenada MX- my home away from home
ft lauderdale/miami FL- gateway to the florida keys, for fishing obv

i was just talking ****, not giving investment advice

charleston SC is cool, much cooler than one might expect. but living in SC is somewhat aids-inducing regardless, and it's really tough to fish down there without a boat

It wouldn't surprise me if Trump personally has 0 stocks. Everything is in real estate and whatever shady deals he has with Deutsch Bank and the Russian mafia.

basically any city that has a heavy gay population is gonna be LIT, as a general rule

like even dallas is not so bad in terms of night life and other stuff, but i don't really like it here overall. **** texas.

We can go tear that **** down together, would imagine a wall near here would be incredibly unpopular.

Dallas seemed alright when I was living in Shreveport, which is almost certainly one of the worst “cities” in the country. My friend lives in Fort Worth and I loved her area but I could see it being pretty heavy Trump country overall. Texas definitely the craziest place to drive I’ve been; the highway on-Ramos are ridiculously short and people pass you on the freeway in the left and then immediately cut in front of you.

Unless you really really like brown, Phoenix is one of the ugliest cities I’ve ever seen. It’s also lousy with Canadians.

Great food, great shows, great gambling and great debauchery.

Tacky as **** can still be great imo.

My buddy told me they used to rent mansions for the summer super cheap from Canadian snow birds, and they would party the whole summer. I had legit never heard of anything like that before. **** blew my mind. I was such a dumb college student and **** like that was going on places.

Phoenix is a complete ****hole. Wall to wall suburbs, no character whatsoever. And it’s basically an oven half the year.

Phoenix has a lot of mountains and is reasonably priced for a big, metropolitan city. My wife and I lived in central Phoenix for a year and we really enjoyed it; the food scene is pretty great and there’s a lot to do (museums, farmers markets, movies, shopping) within a relatively small area - can’t walk it but it’s like a 5-10 minute drive to get anywhere. Summers are noticeably worse than even here though, and the surrounding suburbs are really far from one another.

Edit: not really going to disagree with the people who don’t like it. Scottsdale is particularly crap even though people rave about it. However I’m specifically talking about central Phoenix between like Northern Ave. and “downtown” which is like an 8 mile stretch. Could easily live and spend the vast majority of my time there, only making excursions out to the suburbs as necessary.

Umm, genius. This is a poker forum. Hardly shocking that a long time poster might like Vegas.

Also, I hate political America. I love most everything else about America.

Canadians, particularly Calgarians (my city), own like half of Phoenix. My parents bought their condo at the height of the downturn for like $40k, in a gated complex. Same thing in Calgary would be like $350k.

So many Canadians there I’ve seen Clamato juice for sale!

One of my best friends is a high school principal in Vegas. He hates everything about the strip but loves the actual Vegas life he lives. He doesn't go anywhere near the strip unless people like me go visit him. He is smart af but chose the high school teaching/principal route. He graduated college with a double major in biology/chemistry with a 4.0 planning to go to med school during which I was peer pressuring him to do good LSD on a regular basis.

ETA: He also told me once in the early to mid-2000s that basically every month, some teacher got busted banging one of their students lol.

Noticing Trump posturing about working on Christmas, and whether or not he really is Making America Great Again by signing these documents and posting photos on social media of himself on the phone, he can later credibly state that he DID work through Christmas because of the Democrat obstruction. And for the 71% of people who believe that Christmas is a big deal and that working on Christmas is a big sign of dedication to your job and to your stated goals of Making America Great Again, then at least 30% of those people may be swayed to his side regardless of how his actual policies effect them individually, probably close to 90% of the time.
