Deplorables have short memories. Maybe there's a little wavering but once the shutdown ends, it'll be forgotten by history and he'll be closer to 40%. Hell, people will remember Trump serving McDonald's more vividly than the shutdown.

Removing him from office is a pipe dream no matter what happens.

I'm not sure if that is the case but the Dems do need to come up with a plan that in the event they do impeach, that it is a no-lose scenario for them.
There's no doubt that with the right timing, Democrats could hijack the media with committee after committee and hearing after hearing of Russia-Trump collusion. Actually, it'd be interesting to start doing that as Trump is running for reelection. Having that blocking out all of the Trump propaganda would be pretty strong.
Sure they won't impeach but the news will be enough to keep him out of office for a second term and possibly cause even greater damage to the party as a whole.

They have to escalate this to solidify the significance imo. Them being weak-willed about going after the STRONGMAN could also deflate fervor for opposition voter turnout. "Why back the cowards, what's the point?"
True but is this enough in a Trump Presidency to successfully remove him from office?
