The 450B dollar version of the last stimulus, the only difference is this time we're going to raise taxes as well

Depends who you are. If you are late to class, max out credit cards, expect other people to buy you stuff, go to the mall with your mom and want a toy, have a mortgage loan underwater, there is no incentive for you to care about a national debt, other than it will prevent expansion of business. Why build a new business if Obama, Reich are just going to steal it so they do not have to work.

My bad you're right. He still limited it though.

More infrastructure
More teachers
Continue unemployment checks
Higher taxes on the rich
Tax breaks for mid/lower class
Less regulations (no touching consumer protection or EPA)

I think that was most of it. Emphasis on the ideas all being bipartisan sponsorship bills.

They are not going to raise taxes. Obama controlled both houses in lame duck, and he could not allow Bush tax cuts to expire. To many of his rich buddies wanted their money. How is he going to get it past the house?

I don't think they are going to do much of anything. This was 100% political gamesmanship afaict, but tax increases are part of the non-plan

Those are all the things that should be cut. Cut unemployment checks so people go back to work rather than vacation, higher taxes on rich won't be passed Norquist made most sign a pledge, tax breaks for lower class to steal more payroll tax from social security, less regulation for how long 6 minutes. This is obviously I did this, the economy is bad, vote for me in November speech.

The AJA will increase GDP growth. Over 10 years we'll have more than made up for the $450b cost. It's entirely self financing.

The dollar would have been sacked awhile ago were it not for the Grand Army of the Republic. You'll keep giving us valuable goods & commodities in exchange for our toilet paper, or we'll blow your ass up. The real reason Gaddafi is gone is he wanted to introduce a gold backed currency to compete with fiat currencies. Fatal mistake. What do you think the U.S. has troops in over 100 countries for? To defend democracy?

I'm going to say yes, since "u mad" posts are also generally pretty troll-worthy.

I mean, do you SERIOUSLY think it's because of the link you posted that it's no longer welcome in this forum?

Seriously? no. It's odd that that particular meme caused a stir IRL and was also singled out here.

last time that link was posted the post and poster mysteriously disappeared in the middle of the night

i didn't watch the entire speech, but why in the hell does Obama think this has any chance of passing? GOP was offered 4:1 cuts to tax increases in the debt debate and didn't take it. Now its 1:1 spending increase to tax increase. there is no way this passes.
09-09-2011 , 07:55 AM
Of course it has no chance. This is Obama laying out ye olde schoole bipartisan ideas and then watching the Republicans fall over themselves calling it communism.

Obama is artfully teeing up the 2010 election strategy...
That was a huge win for the Bolsheviks... oh wait.
