Ugh at anyone supporting capping payouts at some arbitrarily chosen figure.

Well if you want to tax the rich more, I'm all for it.

Pet insurance is actually a disaster because of adverse selection.

Its hard to tell, when I try googling for a quote on it I am swamped with articles on how Obamacare is crushing expectations on enrolments. Assuming the two are linked I feel safe saying it is at least meeting expectations.

This chart makes it seem like a zero sum game. $2.8T a year for healthcare. Do you really believe 40 million more people added to healthcare won't increase the total costs? Those forced to buy health insurance from the individual exchange will see their healthcare costs rise thousands of dollars per year.
What about the penalties for not having health insurance? Are these people who don't pay the penalties now considered criminals?

This quarter hasn't ended? How do those who created the chart know the numbers for this quarter?

But anyway ikes ikes ikes remember how back in Michigan there was that kerfuffle about AFP having that ad with the lady whose plan couldn't have been worse? That liberal media dug even deeper:
http://www.detroitnews.com/article/2...#ixzz2vbVq91Rp

Quote:
Boonstra said Monday her new plan she dislikes is the Blue Cross Premier Gold health care plan — which caps patient responsibility for out-of-pocket costs at $5,100 a year, lower than the federal law’s maximum of $6,350 a year. It means the new plan will save her at least $1,200 compared with her former insurance plan she preferred that was ended under Obamacare’s coverage requirements.
Quote:
When advised of the details of her Blues’ plan, Boonstra said the idea that it would be cheaper “can’t be true.”

“I personally do not believe that,” Boonstra said.
Hahaha ikes look upon your people and weep, for among them you are King.

This ties in back with Paul Ryan's weird acceptance of a plagarised anecdote about how poor children don't want free lunch... this ad campaign cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. AFP never ****ing thought to check what her actual plan was before putting her in front of a camera? Jesus Christ, who is running that shop, and how little of a **** do they give about the Koch Brothers money? Lying in a campaign ad in a way that can get factchecked like this is a ****ing disaster, whoever the D candidate is essentially getting free campaign ads in the straight news section. You gotta at least make sure you're keeping your bull**** inside the "spin zone" of plausible he-said, she-said.

-- The cost of health insurance and medical care came sharply down in January, according to number-crunchers at Goldman Sachs and the Commerce Department. Goldman Sachs attributed the slide to cuts in the reimbursement formulas for Medicare services, which are written into the law. The ACA is effectively putting more money in people's pockets -- the Commerce Department estimated that the expansion of Medicaid benefits under the ACA amounted to $19.2 billion in January.

Whoops.

Imagine the savings if they cut Medicare reimbursement to 50%!
03-10-2014 , 08:36 PM
max, man, you know that medicare cost inflation consistently, like even before the ACA, is lower than private insurance, right?

The most common reason people give for not enrolling is the perceived cost of a health plan, but by McKinsey's reckoning more than 80% who gave that reason are eligible for a subsidy, and two-thirds of those didn't know they were eligible, or didn't know how much the subsidy would be.
shocking

i wonder what will happen when these people are forced by the fines to, you know, investigate reality

You just can't back this up. You've cited a single study that was restricted to the medicare population. Nice work though.
