half the cops are drumpfers, just gotta hope those fellas dont harbor too many musket-based patriot fantasies

tbh i agree that its v unlikely that anything major will happen, most peoples lives are too good in america to really get pitchforky. but the chances of a not-very-peaceful transfer of power, while still very slim, have never been as high as this in recent memory imo. and its due to these radio tossers blathering about riggedness and muskets and so on. wankers

the fact that there's a semi-halfway-sorta-maybe if you squint your eyes plausible route to riots out of this is pretty scary. gjge GOP

Shouldn't we be encouraging them to take up arms and start marching up to the white house? Seems like a swift solution to a stupid problem.

MAybe the principal will give you a "beta dad of the year" bumper sticker for your car

BirthdayGate in this thread cracked me up.

It feels like people are still really worried about this election. In the words of Aaron Rodgers "RELAX".

Is our only goal not to get into a war with Russia at any cost?

Good analogy. My fear is that Fox is like the gateway drug into alt-right, stormfront, white supremacist type ****. I'm not sure if the rise in popularity of those sites is temporary and specifically due to Trump, or if it's a natural next step.

If those sites continue to get more popular after the election is over, we're going to be in for at least a few more cycles like this.

Yes, I was referring to his response to the 2nd amendment question from the 3rd debate.

It seems rather hypocritical to say "I want to elect SC judges that will uphold the original meaning of the constitution", and then say "first thing imma do is amend the constitution"

Trump pledges ‘new deal for black America’

In a scripted speech heavy on policy specifics, the Republican presidential nominee laid out a plan that he said is built on setting up better schools, lowering crime in inner cities and creating more high-paying jobs.

He told the largely white audience that “massive numbers” of black Americans have been ignored and left behind
underline added.

LOL @ a trump speech heavy on policy specifics. If he ever gives a speech heavy on policy specifics, then my fecal matter is a 4-course, fine dining meal.

But yeah, looks like Trump is SUPER desperate, basically bribing black people to vote for him, and hoping they don't realize he breaks every promise he makes and never pays up.

AP poll Clinton +14
Fox poll Clinton +3

Those numbers are different.

That's crazy. Fox seemed to be OK from my not very careful poll watching.

Most of what's happened has, within the circle of people who'll discuss this stuff with me IRL, offered me bragging rights I really don't want. That aside, the big wrinkle in my thinking has been understanding that the Standard Model where Fox, Limbaugh etc are the media wing of the GOP has had it backwards all along. In fact, the GOP is the political wing of a revanchist media empire.

Apart from that I've gained further confirmation of how chaotic hierarchical organisations typically are. But my failing there was really in not applying things I'd already known. Trump's rise in the teeth of GOPe resistance was an exhibition match whose result I feel like I could have predicted, but I was wishcasting. Mea culpa.

fox numbers aren't made up like rasmussen/ibd ones, so unfortunately that's a real data point

not that its a +3 race mind, but it ought not to be deleted from the poll avg

You don't have to squint very hard to conclude that people are going to die on November 8, whether it's riots or not being totally irrelevant.

Trump has instructed his idiots to patrol voting locations. They are going to do that and they're going to do it by intimidating minority voters. They are going to do that by open carrying.

This is going to be a terrible scene, and some number >0 of Trump's proud idiots are going to threaten violence, make a citizens arrest of a legal voter, hit someone, tackle someone, berate someone, block entry to a voting location, close a voting location, tear up a ballot, etc. This will lead directly to violence.

Some smaller number >0 of Trump's proud idiots are going to either threaten to pull, or actually pull, a trigger.

We are also going to see variations on the following: (1) police vs. armed white idiots at voting locations; (2) police vs. minority voters who were rightly rioting against armed white idiots at voting locations. I find the second to be far, far more likely.

We are also going to see a marked uptick in unorganized violence against minorities - not Trump's voting monitors, but random worthless Trump idiots committing acts of garden variety voter intimidation and violence on Nov. 8. I doubt all of those end without deaths.

We are also going to see more of the "let's bomb an immigrant apartment complex" response beginning on Nov. 9, when the white Trump idiot voters realize that America has not yet "woken up" to the reality of immigration and the theft of MURICA from white people. That will be white terrorism, encouraged by Trump, but it will not be called that by our cowardly media or politicians.

I expect all of this to happen. I expect tear gas to be utilized on election night in multiple locations to disperse people engaged in the events I describe above. I fully expect legitimate murders to be carried out by people who believe those murders are acts of patriotism they were instructed to undertake by Donald Trump.

It terrifies me.

EDIT: And I keep reading this trope about how all these people are cowards and won't do anything because minorities are so frightening that these Trump voters suffer howling fantods every time a black dude says hi to a white woman.

How is that different from the accurate description of every single coward in history who was proud to take part in a lynching? The only reason it happened is the group empowered each of them. That is specifically and, even worse, explicitly what Trump has been referring to for like a year now. "They used to be treated rough"; "they used to send them out on a stretcher, folks"; "get them outta here." This is race violence, don't get it twisted.

Same with CNN. I'm pretty sure last night it was breaking news that Kelly and Newt fought on Fox.

Place SafeSpaces Traffic cones around the perimeter of the vehicle to ward off danger.
