Definitely legit. Most times i think he stops Machida or dominates a 50-45 decision.
I snap take machida +9.5 pts at evens in a rematch i think weidmans prob -200 vs machida on what we saw maybe -250

I def take weidman -300 vs all other mws other than trt belfort though

He didn't dominate the 2 first rounds. He controlled the first round no doubt but he wasn't landing cleanly and the whole round felt like a feel out process but with Weidman having higher output. 2nd round Machida took over the striking as weidman didnt throw as many punches, but he got the takedown so it secured the round for him possibly. The only round he dominated was round 3.

This is not how i felt while watching it live, but i may need to go back and watch it again.

The numbers @ fightmetric for the first two rounds are pretty convincing though.

i thought weidman was comfortably winning round 2 without the takedown

speaking of superfights, if Jones beats Gus and Cormier, I'd like to see him fight Cain

also agree that weidman comfortably won first two rounds on the feet

I dont think id quite take machida +200 in a rematch but i definitely would at +300 im very confident machida wins more than 1 in 4 although prob not more than 1 in 3

I thought he slowed down with the punches and Machida was hitting the cleaner punches in r2. But I'd have to go back and re watch it to be sure.

swiiftx-

I had $ on Weidman, you had $ on Lyoto. Fair to say we are both probably biased.

Good night.

also worth noting that while Machida connected a lot in r4 and r5, Weidman showed very little signs of being rocked, great chin

Cormier is the best fighter at 205 (possibly also at HW)

I'll have a big bet on him vs Jones or Gus,

This. Just being an olympic caliber athlete (the kind of trials and talent they have to have to succeed makes sure you get the top of the crop) means so much.

Also today we learned that unless Cyborg connects in the first 15 seconds, Rousey will retire with the belt

He hasn't really lost a round at either weight and absolutely toyed with Hendo, literally made him look like a child.

Kind of weird to have see a unanimous decision where all three judges have different scores.

lol judges also shocked judge 2 had r2 for machida but r5 for weidman

Jacare is the only one I can see who can contend with Weidman. Machida's best chance was today, only gettin older and Weidman gettin better.

Weidman is just so well-rounded but he certainly doesn't look invincible. Machida is a great fighter though and Weidman won without TOO much trouble.

lol @ judges also. 10-8 pfff.

+1

This is the future of the LHW division for 4 years easy imo. Him and Cain will be like aids for the entertainment aspect but will both be dominant champs for a long time.

I got Jones against Cormier and I'll definitely be firing if he's as low of a favorite as you guys are making me hope...

Ended the card -1 unit with Machida losing but up 14.3 units this year so going strong.
Really enjoyed last nights card, and the main event was one of my fav fights of this year. As a big Machida fan it was sad to see him lose but he had his moments and that flurry at the end of round 5 was awesome. I think he'll get another title shot at the title in the next few years.

Felt sorry for Nick Newell last night but it had to come eventually, having half your arm missing is obviously a huge disadvantage and when your facing a top level fighter there going to exploit it. Still he's due huge credit for what he's accomplished already.
