Turns out Gall can't handle adversity at all; showed in the Brown fight but I thought that was growing pains and he was still a prospect

Not a prospect anymore

Hope this means I get a nice price fading Sanchez in his next fight

Added a little Walker -160

Why isn't he a prospect anymore? He's only had 7 fights and is 2-2 vs true UFC level competition. Gall looked pretty good early on and seems to be improving. He's still VERY green though. If Diego didn't have such a question mark on his chin going into this fight he would have been the clear favorite.

I agree Gall fought a stupid fight. If Diego's chin was a problem Gall wasn't going to need to go balls to the wall to knock him out.

He's 27 and hasn't gotten any better since he faced Punk and that was a few years ago now. If he was 22 i'd say sure, he can still get there but while he's offensively talented he reacts badly to getting hit, turns out he gasses when he throws big shots and he can only take down guys with no TDD at will

He has power and decent offensive subs and does belong in the UFC barely but will only ever beat guys who don't belong in the UFC or strikers who have zero TDD.

I was higher on Gall than most but after this I just don't think he's going to put it all together and become the top 15 fighter one day I thought he might.

Experience-wise, Gall is pretty much where Diego was when he won the Ultimate Fighter back in 2005. Keep in mind the only reason Gall is in the UFC at this point in his career is because they needed a guy with no experience to fight CM Punk.

He hadn't even had a fight yet when he was 22 years old. He's not young in age but he is young in MMA years. In this sport athletes can come in later and finish their careers later than in other sports. I think he's gotten a lot better personally.

Does he belong in the UFC? Really, I'd say he doesn't. He's a prospect and should be improving against lower level competition. I don't know the last time we've seen the towel thrown in during a UFC fight but when Diego mounted him at the end I questioned why the towel wasn't thrown in (even before Diego started reigning down shots). The fight was essentially over. Winning or losing at this point in his career is far less important than taking shots like he just took.

Happy I stayed off Gall. Bummer about Perez, but was my smallest bet.

Time for Walker and Zabit. Two of my biggest bets!

Called Zabit closing -300+ earlier as well

Wow solid. Nice r1 prop

Crazy he dislocates his shoulder celebrating Tony Ferguson-esque

Very legit prospect now and probably second in line behind Santos of the non DC fighters at LHW after Smith gets his shot today. Maybe Reyes too. Santos, Reyes, Walker - LHW is finally getting some new talented prospects who could solidify themselves as top 5 instead of guys pushing 40.

Reyes vs Walker for the shot after Santos maybe assuming Jones stays active/beats Smith today?

Altenatively if Reyes beats Volkan maybe give him the shot and make a #1 contender fight between Santos and Walker because my god would that be a fun fight with fireworks everywhere and the winner assuming it's by spectacular KO which it would be with those two would def be Jones most hyped contender in ages.

I think we're in a rare spot today where I want to see the actual #1 contender (Smith) face Jones less than 3 different other guys. Should be good though regardless.

Good prelims for me all up won a few units on Walker props and Shahbazyan props plus their wins and lost smaller on Gall

Let's go Askren/Jones (sigh)/Woodley

May still back Cody I think he wins but trying to talk myself out of it

If he was a legit prospect, the outcome would be completely different imo. That was a terrible performance. The fight could of gone Diego's way but Gall could of still looked decent, but what can we say now?

Even the professional newscaster in the cage that has most likely practised saying Zabits second name a thousand times, could not say Magomedsharipov.

Maybe all that Zabit hype has clouded my vision but if Jeremy Stephens even makes this fight competitive then you truly are the greatest.

Like that he went for a takedown. Thought he should have gone for one every time Stephens rushed him.
